SCAMMERS!!! Before I begin please note that the “5 Star Reviews” you are reading are from GUEST TOURS NOT ACTUAL 5540 Hyde Park Residents. This agency request that guest leave reviews upon tours but you have to source through this to find the truth from the actual residents! Now, I found 3L Living and went on a tour of the unit with the leasing agent Patrick. I walked through the unit and discovered the locks on the windows were broken. Patrick ensured me verbally in which I followed up via email that the locks would be replaced. Patrick then sent me an email stating if I did not sign the lease that my application would be cancelled. Against my better judgment I signed the lease and went to do a walk through of the unit. The pictures below are the photos of the window with locks still broken and the atrocious bathroom with a hole in the wall in the front of the tub where bugs or rodents can crawl through and as you can see there are many dead bugs all throughout the bathroom!!! That bathroom is in no livable condition and broken locks on the window is a safety hazard!!! I explained both in person and via email repeatedly that I cannot in good judgment move into an apartment in this condition and my constant request for an update cleaning update is being ignored. I NEVER picked up the keys to this unit and never moved in due to the condition of this unit. The property “manager” Sherry Brown informed me that they will not be replacing the window locks or doing anything else to the apartment. I contacted the office several times for a corporate contact but the agents give me the number to their own offices(as in the number I called to request a corporate contact is the number the agents give me). I have made numerous attempts to contact 3L living for the past several months to get this matter resolved but I have been ignored, rerouted and over talked. I cannot in sound mind move into this unit under this condition. However, I am still receiving emails for rent payments. Whatever you do avoid this place!!! They will take you on a tour, promise to clean up the unit, have you sign and then you will walk into a hell hole…

UPDATE AS OF NOVEMBER 5, 2024 I STILK HAVE NOT RECEIVED ANY CORRESPONDENCE FROM 3L LIVING….

I seldom leave comments or reviews online, but I wanted to highlight one of the great employees at my building. The previous manager was incredibly rude and didn’t respond to any emails or text messages. I would have to go to another location to speak to her even though the management office is in my building. Despite that I would like to share that Patrick Gentry has always been helpful, resourceful, professional and prompt in resolving issues that I’ve had come up. He also makes any experience with him pleasant due to his friendly and easy-going manner. I don’t understand why he has been made manager yet.

This is for 3L living on 731 S Plymouth. The entire staff should be replaced, I have rented more then 15 years and I have never encountered such an inept and oblivious staff. I don't know which level of management is to blamed, but the entire tree is rotten. They all act oblivious and just plain stupid, they don't care for your maintenance tickets, they don't want to speak to you at all , they dont want to be there , they don't care about the building, they let things rot , they are just their to take your high rent and go home. If you care for your life and your overall quality of life, do not rent there - they are just wolves. I count the day when I can leave 3L forever, if I wasnt going to be penalized for leaving and made to pay them more I would of left months ago. The city of Chicago should be investigating them , but we know nothing will happen. Dont get pulled in by the amazing location, like I did, it's not worth your quality of life . Find another place in that area that treats you better.

Gotta say I love having the metra two blocks down, the downtown routes 28,55, and 6 across the street. It's a 5min walk to to the lake and science museum as well as many great palaces to eat and shop at like Thai 55 and open produce or Walgreen ace trader Joe's etc.

The building has an app for the washers and dryers and anytime there has been an issue it's fixed by another company very quickly.

There's a pin pong and fusball table. Vending machine. Bike storage room. Decent basic workout gear From weights to a treadmill and some more.

There are common areas and tables for students. Computers with a printer. A music room. Two pianos.

The communal kitchen has lockers for your pantry needs just being your own locks and keys.

Overall it's a great place before I really settle down and find a place. The building has literally improved each week since two months ago and I'm excited to see what my new lease here accomplishes.

Fantastic selection of economical housing, fully furnished options from three different properties around Hyde Park. Very clean. Management is fantastic and they keep re-investing in the properties common areas and units.

So Francy from 3L living was very helpful and diligent. She helped me get this small studio in my time of need. The process was really smooth I looked at 3 places with the 3rd being my choice. I vented about my personal life,
she listened and really helped me. She's great at her position and I hope 3L living appreciates her. She's an asset to this establishment.

The management and maintenance team at 5540 Hyde Park Boulevard 3L Living are professional, helpful, and quick to respond to tenants’ requests. Tony even walked me through how to flip the breaker switch when my power went out tonight on a Saturday! I submitted a maintenance request online then Tony called me and helped me get the power restored to my unit immediately. Thank you, Tony! I really appreciate your prompt service and friendly demeanor.
