I've been using Aurora for a few years now and it was by far the best software in the solar industry. Under Legacy, modeling homes and putting out proposals was fast, easy and intuitive and gave our company a way to have our own unique look when we sent our proposals to our customers. This new V2 version is a disaster. Something that already worked so well has been completely stripped for the worst. It is not intuitive, the new "add-ons" don't work properly, and they are things our company doesn't even use but have to pay the price of completely having to relearn how to use the software. Simple tasks now take me forever because certain things don't work or are in a place that doesn't make sense. Proposals are no longer unique. My company was forced to completely change the look on our proposals to a generic and pretty ugly looking proposal. We have been back logged because of all of this and it feels like Aurora pulled the rug from underneath us. There is also no other way to contact anyone from the company about this, so unfortunately I have to leave a review. They "fixed" something that wasn't broken and now it's worse.

This Solar design and simulation platform is simply the best. The innovation and tools provided along with the best support make designing systems for my clients easy and most accurate. I truly enjoy using Aurora.

I have been using Aurora Solar at Boundless, Inc for 3 years and it has been a game changer for my sales process. The accuracy of the design tool, the ability to price in adders, and the ease to convert to project is like no other Solar software I have used.
Aurora software builds credibility and trust in the home. With both of those combined we have an upper hand in any sales environment.

I was happy with Aurora solar on the legacy platform. Now with the new platform, there are a lot of glitches. I paid a graphic designer to make a nice sales/proposal template. I can’t transfer it over to the new platform so I get to start over with my graphic designer. Aurora did make a new template for me but it is very unprofessional. I am paying a premium monthly subscription, but here I am stuck because I no longer have access to the old platform and the new one is not working.

This use to be a good service but it has gone seriously downhill. They are forcing existing subscribers, who paid for the legacy version to use a new version that does not do half of what the old legacy version would do. The company has had to layoff about 20% of their staff due to declining sales which is understandable because this new version is horrible. On top of that I have been emailing for almost two months in roughly 15 to 20 emails to try to talk to a supervisor and that request just continues to go unanswered. These so-called customer service people that actually answered the emails only give half *** answers and most of the time what they are saying is completely false and most of the time what they are saying is completely false. Buyers beware if at all possible stay away from this company they're self destructing and they could care less on who they take down with them!!!!
Edit: I love how y'all go through and respond with a big word salad but never address the actual issues, of customer service rep not giving accurate and truthful information and to date I still not been able to talk to the supervisor. Transitioning to the new version is not the issue it's the shortcomings of the new version and the customer service reps not giving accurate information. I learned the Legacy I can learn the new one but yet still to roll out such a limited program when the Legacy did so much more and called Improvement is just utterly ridiculous.

The legacy Aurora program was second to none, but the Version 2 that has been pushed out is frankly worthless. It is not at all user friendly, offers no additional functionality that is relevant to our business, pigeon holes us into the most generic proposal templates imaginable, and frankly is just woefully inferior to the prior version. I’ve been in the solar industry for 15 years and have openly professed that Aurora is the best there is for years, so to have our highly customized proposal templates yanked out from under us with no recourse and without the tools to remake them, I feel like my business has taken a huge hit in our ability to rapidly respond to customers in a way that is in line with our branding aspirations. I fear now customers will get near copy-paste identical proposals from everyone using Aurora which diminish their individual value. The builder they have to “customize” the template is an absolute dumpster fire, is unnecessarily rigid and just a foolish decision. I’m leaving this 1 star review as it’s the only conceivable way I have to bring this to Aurora’s attention after repeatedly expressing my frustration through email and to the reps who wanted us to adopt V2 last year when it was new. Nothing has been done to address our concerns and unfortunately I am retraining my team to use both solargraf and open solar rather than waste time trying to bail out and make semi-functional the sinking ship that is V2 Aurora. 0/10. Very disappointing for a company with such a great past.

We use everything from the proposal tool to planset design! I could not keep up with the output and Aurora is making me look awesome!
