I was approached by door to add more solar panels to our current ones. The previous company was a different company than Future Home Power. I was given a quote and they promised they would pay off the remaining balance for the previous solar panels if we moved forward, adding more solar panels with them. It has been 5 months since future home power had more solar panels added and I’m still waiting for the them to hold up their end of the agreement with paying off the previous companies panels. I have tried getting a hold of the representative who sold me the panels, as well, as the company and have not heard anything back in over a month. We may have to get an attorney involved if their end of the bargain is not upheld. I was happy with everything up until now. It’s incredibly frustrating! As of now, I would not recommend due to the lack of communication and not following through!

Stay far away from this company. We signed our solar contract in May and we were told that the panels would be installed in September. October comes around a we get a text to be home on a certain day for installation. Turns out only some of the wiring and wall boxes were installed that day. After calling the installation company a number of times we finally got an installation date of mid November. Upon completion the installers told us that in about 2 weeks the city would come to do the final inspection and the panels would be turned on. It is now January and that inspection hasn’t happened and no one at Future Home Power will respond to our messages/calls. I am very unimpressed with everything about this company and I wish I could cancel the contract and have it all removed!

Red Flags
The company phone number on their website does not match the phone number listed here on google maps. The phone number online is a toll free number starting with 877 but is not in service. The number listed on google maps has a Los Angeles area code with no response if you call. I was told that the company does their own installation of panels and they have a C-10 license but it’s not listed anywhere on the website and was not provided during the visit. Later the sales rep said that the installation goes out to someone else and they’re not part of that process. If you go under the “Blog” section of the website you’ll see that all 3 posts were made on the same day March 30th 2020. The top post is directly copied and pasted from another solar company called “ION Solar” but they don’t operate in California according to their website. They tried the classic “I live from far away and can’t make another trip out here so we need to finish the contracts now” to pressure into signing the contract. Apparently this business has been operating for 30 years according to the sales rep who’s been with the company since 2003 but the website is only 2 years and 6 months old. For a company that’s been in business for so long it doesn’t make sense. All of the reviews are from less than a year ago and the accounts have 1 review total. Some of the reviews are from the employees themselves. The office is in San Diego about 20 minutes from me so I’ll go down there and visit the office myself and see what’s up. You sign the contract without knowing the actual cost of the panels, installation, or interest rates on loans. Most likely a scam, practice caution and go with a real reputable solar panel company even if it means paying a little more for peace of mind.

I'm not here to bash the company, but I am going to provide an honest review. To start off, would I do business with the company again? Absolutely not - and here's why. Riccardo was the sales representative from Future Home Power. I entered into an agreement in May of this year. During the sales consultation, he made it clear that it would be a smooth, easy process. I had asked that I needed the electrical panel upgraded and he said "no problem, we will take care of that." Also, they were running a promotion, where "if you sign today, you will get a free Smart Switch, a $5,000 value."

I had heard various stories about people having bad experiences with solar companies, but I decided to enter into this contract, thinking I would have a different experience. Within a few weeks after signing the contract, the sales representative, Riccardo, stopped responding to my texts and calls. Turns out the job was subcontracted (or Future Home Power is partnered with) Milholland Electric. Milholland ended up subcontracting the solar panel installation to another company, who ended up subcontracting the main electrical panel upgrade to another company. I didn't know who to contact for what at that point.

When Milholland pulled the City permit, they only pulled the permit for the solar installation, not the main electrical panel upgrade. I saw that and let Riccardo know who in return told me they'll take care of it. A lot of vague responses throughout this process - "I let the contractor know" and "we will take care of it."

A couple of days before the install, the equipment was delivered. Of course, I didn't know about it because communication has been absolutely horrendous. A few days later, a company knocked on my door stating they were here to install. I almost sent them on their way, since they weren't Milholland Electric and no one told me they had subcontracted the job. The day of the install, the guys seemed to do a good job, the other company who installed the main electrical panel, seemed to good job. That day, the City inspector came and looked at the project and said, "this permit doesn't call for a main electrical panel upgrade." Something I had made everyone aware of six weeks prior to the install, and was told it was going to be "take care of."

Installation was 6 weeks ago, panels have been on my roof for six weeks now, and they are not turned on. After many attempts to contact both Riccardo and Milholland Electric, I got no responses. I ended up trying to reach to Future Home Power, called their main line, but apparently that number is no longer in service. Luckly, I ended up getting a hold of Ammon, who I believe also works for Future Home Power. Communication has improved dramatically. City permit issue was cleared this week (again six weeks after install). I'm still waiting for the solar panels to be activated. I signed the initial contract in May. Today is October 2nd and I'm still waiting.

Another hiccup at the moment - the Smart Switch that Riccardo mentioned was part of the promotion when I signed up. Multiple times, he mentioned that it was going to be installed. I even asked him the day of the install, if it was going to be installed. He assured me it was. Obviously, that was not the case. To this day, that has not been installed. Last week, they mentioned that the Smart Switch was incompatible with the solar system they ended up installing on my home. I have Jinko Solar Panels with Enphase iQ7 inverters. I ended up calling the solar equipment company Enphase. They stated that the Smart Switch is infact compatible with the iQ7 inverters. I was extremely disappointed that I was told the contrary. I made Future Home Power aware of this and I am waiting to hear back. And that is where I am at with this process... still waiting for my panels to be turned on.

Problems? Solar United Neighbors provided advice like reporting it to the state's attorney general office, file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and the Solar Energy Industries Association.

We love our new panels and placement on the roof. The aesthetics, placement, and quality of these panels were a huge concern before we decided to research solar options. We were also able to take advantage of a tax credit w little penalty for entire solar payoff, meaning we could bounce back from our move-in costs, add instant equity to our home, and secure our remodeled inside with a new roof guaranteed for 25 years. Oh, and we eliminated increased energy costs to SDGE with zero down payments or upfront costs.

I had a great team helping me with the Solar install.
Brett L. was patient first with the contract and finding me a good deal, then with the permits with the city and finally having the system up and ready.
I had dealt with two other companies before, but with Brett we ended up with the best option for me.

Terrible.....We talked to one of the sellers. He did a good job pitching this nice plan for us. After filling out the pre-qualification which we were excited about because we qualified for the amount, the seller kept ghosting us. We sent him a text several times. No response. We basically said no thank you, we don't want your service anymore. Horrible. His name his Chandler Pethel. If anyone shows up to your door and schedules you an appointment with Chandler, run ?‍♀️ . Don't sign or do anything.

STAY FAR AWAY.......Absolutely terrible in the beginning they were good about getting everything set up we worked with Robi obstrar and he made promises to us about a reimbursement. Initially he stated it would be issued to us as soon as we got the permission to operate then we got that and he stated it would be issued in February it is now May and he has officially ghosted us I've tried reaching out to his GM Jarom and received no response. I've now field a claim with BBB and even they can't get ahold of anyone.
