My Burns team was fantastic. I needed them to remove my vinyl floor from 1979 because the floor tested positive for asbestos. My team was courteous and respectful. Aside from the buzzing of their equipment I could hardly hear them. After they took down the hazmat plastic the only clue they were here was that the floor was white (asbestos encapsulation paint) and the old flooring was gone.

I heartily recommend Burns and I hope I never need asbestos abatement again, but if I do the only company I would use is Burns Environmental Services

When removing the carpet in the bed room we found linoleum tiles underneath that contained asbestos. Jack from Burns Environmental Services walked us through the whole process answering all my questions… and I had a ton of questions. He was very patient and was always responsive. There was clear communication throughout the entire process which gave us the confidence to go with Burns Environmental services. We were able to negotiate a fair price for the job and Jack walked us through all the details of the quote. His crew was very professional and showed up promptly and finished in a timely manner. Professional. Prompt. Respectful. Jack prepared the abatement estimate for my house insurance. It was very thorough. Insurance had no problem authorizing the work. Burns arranged for testing of my kitchen floor, countertops, paint, drywall and insulation for asbestos. Found only in my kitchen floor and 40 year old 4" countertop tiling.
The abatement team came in, hung containment, covered my flooring with plastic and moved the stove and dishwasher to the garage. Then broke apart @ 43 sq feet tile, scraped up the 3 layers of flooring. Bagged up everything. Took great care of my house. Thank you for an excellent and quick job!

Do not chose Burns Environmental Services if you care about your home. All I can say is we did NOT have a good experience at all with Burns Environmental Services for our asbestos removal. Be warned that you should read their contract with a fine-toothed comb so that when this happens to you, you aren't as shocked and disappointed by the result as we were. We have a two bedroom condo that needed the acoustic removed from the ceiling due to a low percentage of asbestos prior to our home being remodeled. The project manager set up an appointment to visit our home and make an assessment. Based off the great reviews and local service, we decided to go with Burns.We emptied our ENTIRE home so they could perform the work. During the abatement, duct tape was used to secure the plastic containment instead of painters tape or other non-abrasive tape. We actually visited our home as the worker was removing the containment and was able to see the results in real time. The duct tape removed a large amount of paint; including primer and texture from all of the areas where this tape was used, including newly painted and previously painted rooms. After numerous failed attempts to resolve this with the managers, the operations manager informed us that there is nothing they can do for us.
They claim that this is a very common occurrence and they can not be held responsible for any damage done, via they're contract. However I find it hard to believe that this is a common occurrence for a number of reasons: 1. Our condo is not that large and should not require excessive taping to hold up the containment. If this were the case, single family homes that are larger would have this problem consistently and I doubt they would have positive reviews if this happened on a regular basis 2. If this is common, they should communicate this and make it clear during the evaluation that this is a potential outcome, even if it is just a small chance 3. No effort was made to contact us prior to the decision to use duct tape instead of painters tape 4. Their own crew admitted that the wrong tape was used to put up the containment 5. Painters tape was used downstairs to secure the containment and did not damage the paint 6. When the crew came back to remove the fans, the worker also informed our contractor that they used the wrong tape to secure the containment. 7. They insisted that "old/cheap" paint has a tendency to come off, even though we used very high quality paint and applied it just recently. After I told the manager this, he changed his story and said that new paint is more likely to come off and they have no way of predicting what will happen.
The only sense of responsibility that I received from them was the operations manager saying "Shame on us for not communicating better"; unfortunately "shame" will not cover over $4000.00 in damage that their service caused. I will continue to fight for the repairs to our home, however it is likely that Burns will not re-mediate our costs.

The entire team at Burns Environmental has been amazing on our home project. Jeremy was our project manager, and the onsite team was lead by Jaime. Everyone that was in our home and that we dealt with in the office have been great at communicating, working around my schedule, prompt, efficient, kind and a pleasure to work with. I would recommend this group for any removals you need.

I had a great experience with everyone at Burns. They were able to work around a tight schedule laid down by the insurance company and the contractors. All the proper paperwork was relayed to the insurance company and we never had to worry if invoices were being paid. Everyone in the office and in the field are very friendly and helpful.
