Someone from Lumio came to our house and said our solar wasn’t working. We got an electric bill for the first time ever, so that tracked. We had never heard of Lumio, but apparently they bought the company that originally installed our panels. The technician said our fuse wasn’t working, but he didn’t have a replacement. He said he would come back the following week when he was in the area. That was four weeks ago. No one has contacted us. If you call any and all phone numbers you can find for Lumio, no one answers, even during their posted business hours. We have left phone messages and emailed them, but no one has responded. The technician did not leave any contact information. Horrible and unprofessional customer service. Do NOT use this company for your solar.

The initial process prior to installation was great. Although we ran into a few issues during the installation process our reps were awesome in getting everything resolved a getting us all set up. Multiple people reached out to me to ensure our install was progressing accordingly

Lumio Solar is a joke, I don't even know how they are still in business. They came out, made everything sound great. They came installed Solar panels and everything in 2022, about a year later, I found a leak in my Roof. I called them, they came out 3 times, because they had supposedly fixed it. It is now October 14, 2024 and still has not been fixed. The Damage of my home is so severe, the water damage is now coming in through my Garage!!! My home is a two story house!!!

SOME BACKGROUND ON SOLAR ENERGY COMPANIES:
First, you need to understand that all Solar Panels installed by all Solar Energy companies deliver energy directly to the energy utility company (Southern California Edison (SCE) in my case). Then, the utility company delivers the energy to your house based on your needs. Then, a differential of usage and production is calculated so you will get what it is expected to be free for you. BUT, if there is a power outage, you are cut from the utility company. Therefore, even if you own or lease your Solar Panels, neither production energy is delivered to the utility company nor usage energy is delivered to your house. In order to overcome this problem, the States provide incentives to the installation Solar Energy companies to install batteries. One battery will not be enough for your house. A minimum of two or three batteries are required to provide enough power to your house. But the lifespan of the batteries depends on the brand (the best ire Tesla and LG) and the usage (SCE can utilize your batteries storage on high demand hours). Therefore a 10 year battery can last only 6-7 years. Then there will be a cost to replace them.

LUMIO SUPERIORITY:
1. Lumio offers some of the best Solar Panel technology while the controller technology is offered by Enphase. Great technical and customer service compared to other companies.
2. Lumio is the only Solar Energy company that may come to a very personalized installation that no other company will. But you need to have it on the contract. They offer Solar Panels with micro-inverters and they give you options for energy backup from batteries to generators or inverters. Furthermore, I did not want to have any battery for specific personal reasons. Therefore, Lumio came with a wonderful solution to have a special control box that switches the power generated by the Solar Panels directly to the house during Sunlight hours with no battery usage. This is about 30% of what is produces by the panels to keep stability in the circuits. In the event of a power outage, this solution is almost parallel to having batteries. Indeed, only during Sunlight hours, you can deliver the panels energy directly to your house bypassing the energy utility company. This is a great solution independent from having batteries. It is not advertised! I searched and studied all the Solar Energy companies and I came with the conclusion that Lumio was the best candidate to provide what I really wanted.

The worst company to deal with. We are not generating anything. PG&E bill is the same as pre-solar. No response from anyone. Been calling for a month, all we get are crickets. How can they run this company. We have had nothing but problems. I don’t even know if they exist anymore, just getting the runaround. Run from them, please just run. We purchase it because the sales person’s son and my son were in the same little league. Worst decision ever.

I also want to note that Jake and his crew installed everything within hours and was very patient and informative with my questions. David came onsite and was super friendly and fast with getting us connected, even in the rain. All smiles and great service from everyone. We only barely got connected but I trust I’ll have positive things to say about my electric bills now moving forward.
