This place was pretty great about 20 years ago. They would meet you at the gate with hot cider and a saw. The cider was good, and they would offer some holiday cheer in the form of a nice splash of rum or brandy. They are no longer engaging in that type of welcome, and the place looks a little worse for wear. That said all the trees are $105.00 with tax, from 2' to 10', so if you want to go big it's a bargain. Also letting your children run around for an hour picking out a tree and then helping cut it is priceless.

I was a bit apprehensive about going here after the mixed reviews, but we gave it a shot after discovering our original location was closed. We were given a hand saw upon arrival and told trees are a fixed price of $96. There are many tree lots to choose from and you can drive around to explore the area. After harvesting our tree we had it wrapped up, unfortunately the tree shaker was apparently out of use (despite us seeing the customer in front of us having their tree shook). At checkout our total was $111, with taxes and cost of tree wrapping. The whole experience took us exactly 1 hour. Overall a pretty good time, we would return.

Went during the week on a Thursday and there were only a few other cars which made the experience enjoyable. The property is huge with lots of variety. It was my first time visiting a tree farm so I don’t have much to compare it to. All cut your own trees are $86.86 + tax no matter the size. They charge $3 plus a 3% credit card processing fee so bring cash if you want to avoid that.

Maybe it was my fault that I went during the week, however my experience was not good at all. When we first arrived we saw a lady telling some people in a car about breaking the rules and that police were involved and there was a r*pe in the back, etc. Not professional.
2nd there is no netting for your tree even though there are signs everywhere about it.
3rd the workers do not want to help you.
4th bad service; the guy who checked me out just tossed my debit card back at me. I asked him to see if my tree was tied down enough and he said he'll just see as I drive off, he only asked if it was tied, never actually checked.
The $2 off coupon on their website is not valid.
There was a sketchy car that cut us off on the mini road there.
This place lacks the Christmas spirit and workers seem to hate their job.
I would recommend driving farther up to Placerville, much better experience there.

Really great small
Town Christmas place. Great for kids with train ride and u-cut trees with large selection. Yes, pricey but about the same as any in Bay Area.

Visited on opening day, 11/20, and there was already a lack of decent trees. We had to drive all the way to the back lot, and i struggled to commit to any tree at all. Most were too short and/or patchy. We finally settled on one, $80 for any tree. Staff were helpful with netting and tying it on our car. I could see how this place might be good in a year or two once all the tiny trees have time to grow up a bit more. Good luck tree hunting!

This year the pines are any good (todo small and dry) but you can buy a pre cut tree (from Oregon) prices starting at 100usd...the one on the photo 150.

Cut your tree on a gorgeous property, hop on a short train or take photos with Santa. For my family, this place is a holiday tradition.
