I had a sales consultant contact me regarding my energy provider and was requesting a copy of a recent bill to try and sell me on their rates, which is standard and normal. Due to the nature of business I hadn't had time to provide them with a bill, the matter was not pressing anyway, as I'm still locked in with another provider for 2 years. Over the course of a week or so I had overheard multiple conversations that took place with this employee and my secretary and needless to say, any business prospects vanished. Fast forward a week, the sales consultant calls again and my secretary, fed up with her pushy manner and rude approach told her I would get back to her when I had the time and to stop calling.
Now, up to this point, it's not anything too out of the norm with these energy provider salespeople. I've grown accustomed to feeling like being rude and pushy is a pre-requisite so that doesn't bother me. But this particular sales person escalated things to another level entirely that was extremely uncomfortable and downright invasive, let alone borderline harrasment.
This sales person found my personal cell-phone number somehow, and called it relentlessly 7 times in a row, with each call getting rejected after 1-4 rings. SEVEN TIMES on my personal phone. She then called the shop again, hung up. Called my cellphone again, 3 more times, although this time I let it ring all the way through. I rang her back multiple times and got rejected each attempt as well. An hour or two later, she calls the business AGAIN, except this time she called both business lines back to back after hanging up. I was able to get one answered and speak with her and told her to never call back again. I made it abundantly clear she was not to call ever again and we will never do business with her company, I repeated myself until she hung up. Guess what? She called back AGAIN 10 minutes later to which another employee informed her there would be multiple reports with the FCC and her phone carrier for harassment should she ever call again.
I'm still a little weirded out by her obtaining my cell phone number and calling me on it repeatedly like that. IF anyone higher up would like to speak with me further about this I would be open to it, because I hate for a single employee to damage a businesses reputation. With how bold this stint of actions were though, I'd be surprised if I was one off case of this happening...
