We signed a $57K contract with John Miller General Contractor / Pool Again on 5 August and still do not have a completed pool. We paid two huge draws back in August that equaled over half of the total contract and did not get anything done. Finally on 3 November, they started excavation, but we were told that the only way to complete the pool was to pay the vendors directly because he didn't have the capital to pay his vendors or employees to even get money to come to our property. He provided POs for the vendors costs that would have finished the pool and the screen (contract includes a screen enclosure) $1.2K above the contract amount. We have paid the vendors directly since November to try and get anything done on the pool and screen at all. We've already paid the total amount that the contract should have been worth and we have a pool with a liner that has a hole in it, no decking (just dirt), no screen. He has all but abandoned our job, his phone is shut off and we haven't heard from him. We will now have to pay way outside of the original budget ($20K or more) to finish the work that John started. Do not sign a contract with John Miller or Pool Again. This has been a never ending nightmare.

About 2 years ago we had a brand new liner installed in our pool. Then came the never ending rain of April 2014. At some point something happened and the dirt under several areas of my pool concrete deck subsided and slid down under the liner. The deep end of the pool now became not so deep any longer. No big leaks but a huge safety issue. I didn't know if the walls were going to collapse at any minute or not. To be honest, I thought I was going to have to fill the pool in with dirt and be done with it. After talking with several businesses over the next year, who clearly had no idea as to the depth of repair required, I was given John's name and phone by a friend. John came out and looked over the problem and presented me with a detailed estimate explaining what they would need to do and the potential problems that could arise. He also suggested some proactive improvements that could be made to help ensure the longevity of the repairs. Over the next few weeks John's team consisting of Russell, Mike, Bob and Shelly repaired our pool making it look new again. We are relieved that we don't have to worry about the pool collapsing and can let the grandchildren swim in the pool and have fun again.
An excellent team you will not be disappointed.

This is my husband's review on the Pool Again facebook page of our situation:

Much like everyone else, my experience with John Miller and Pool Again has been nothing but negative. Let me preface this review by saying, "DO NOT do business with John Miller and Pool Again". His workers are honest, hard working people but John Miller is a thief, a liar, and a con artist. Paid the first half up front which is what normally happens on contracted jobs. Two weeks later John says he needs the second half payment to go forward with ordering the liner and concrete. It was at this moment that John Miller started to ignore both my wife and I. Everything from text, call, voicemail, email, knocking on his door, etc. was completely avoided. It was at this moment I knew I was out of the $8,626 contracted pool job (first payment was on Feb 26, 2018). Weeks go buy with no contact. Luckily his workers, Mike and Shelly, stepped in to help out. To this day they have never seen a dime of that money because John Miller hasn't paid them. John Miller hires new work in order to pay for the old which has led him down an enormous financial hole. It was at this moment I had to bite the bullet and pay for it all again and work with Mike/Shelly. Everything from the cement mixer, pavers, sand, piping, the liner, etc. has all been re-purchased. All of this has cost me an additional $5000+ on top of the $8626 I had already given John. Furthermore, the added stress that has been put on my family has made life extremely tough the last couple of months. Most of this was happening during my deployment which makes matters even worse. This entire situation has been nothing short of cancerous and a huge burden onto my family. To anyone else who has had their entire savings account ripped out from them at the hands of John Miller, I feel for you. We are all in this fight together. I will be pursuing legal action against John Miller and I advise you all to do the same.

We recently moved into an older home near Fort Walton Beach, Florida. One of our most important projects was to get an ugly old 1970's style vinyl liner pool updated for my wife and grandchildren to enjoy. After asking around, a neighbor and my realtor recommended John Miller at PoolAgain...wow what a great suggestion! John was fully prepared to go over all of the things I wanted to do with my pool. He had manufactures brochures to leave with us for the products he recommended and showed us pictures of jobs that he had completed with some of the enhancements that we were contemplating for our pool. When the project was complete we found that we were able to have everything done to this old dilapidated pool and make it exactly the dream pool we wanted for less than half the cost of having a new pool built.
Mike and Russell, Johns on site foremen and partners ran the project seamlessly. Everything was done like it was supposed to be and even ahead of schedule. I highly recommend PoolAgain for any of your pool construction or renovation needs!

These guys have many years of experience in pool renovations and are very knowledgeable in their business. I had a new liner, heat pump, salt water chlorinator, pump and filter installed. They replaced and recolored parts of the deck and repainted and rescreened the screen house. It looks like a brand new pool. I thought the pricing was very fair. John knows everything there is to know about pools and where to spend money and where not to and Russell is a perfectionist about his repairs. After paying for the work there were a couple of issues that came up and they responded in a timely manner to fix them. I am very satisfied and would recommend them to family and friends.

My recommendation is never contract for pool repair. The contract was signed in early November and was not finished until end of January. Labor problems and too many jobs at one time appeared to be part of the issue. They would show up at 4:00 PM, which was right before dark and this was the third job of the day. To top everything off the new liner leaks and the light fell out. Contacted John upon discovery of these issues via email and left a voicemail and have had no response at the time of this review. The only positive comment is he is a very nice person.

Worst experience ever!! Not only did it take him almost 6 months to get a simple pool liner installed, he installed the wrong one. I felt for his contractors as they took the brunt of the angry customers, but now I’m even upset with them because we have had nothing but problems. Our liner has wrinkles at the bottom of the shallow end, and the liner is coming out of the top where it was pushed in. So now water is getting down where it shouldn’t! They want to charge me to do something that has only been 4 months installed!!! I will be opening a law suit against this shady company! Even if I have to bring down everyone who works with it!

John Miller stole my $1,650 deposit back in March and I have recently learned he moved to Washington State to deal with a "problem" . He is unreachable. I will be reporting him to the local clerks office to hopefully get his license revoked. I will also be reporting him to the local police department just to get this on record. I hear he duped close to 20 customers.
