This is a great location and has so much potential, but it falls short... everywhere. The pizza is bland, not very much sauce and not very much toppings. They are fire-oven baked which is nice, but it leaves burnt black pieces on the bottom of the pizza and it gets all over your hands and is next to impossible to wash off without using soap and water (read, napkins don't wipe it off). The food is overpriced for what it is and it was noisy. Servers were nice, but if I have to wave someone down every time to get something like a refill, that just doesn't cut it. I want to like this place, I really do, but I just can't say I'll be returning because there are much better artisan pizza locations in the area.

Really good, fresh pizza. More East Coast style than most places around Indy. Many local ingredients and environmentally-conscious owners and staff. My wife's and my favorite! The mussels are incredible too! We use the leftover sauce from the mussels for pasta or other recipes the next day! Bravo 🙂

Having only been to this location once, I will have to return again to comment on consistency. This visit, we split a large Chop Salad. It could easily feed 4 if having a main course. We selected a classic Margherita Pizza and added the house made Ricotta cheese. This $4 add on was very good but having made ricotta, I question the $4 charge. It was basically $1 a dollop. Overall, the pizza was well done as in made well. The crust had a good balance of chew and crunch. I also ordered an Italian Soda with the Ginger Lemon flavor. It was very very tasty with freshly grated ginger. As of right now, I would return for lunch but I prefer the Carmel location.

I'm very divided on this place. On the one hand, the drink selections are great, with really well thought out cocktails. On the other hand, the service is lackluster, and the pizza tends towards charcoal flavored. I've been here on three separate occasions, and my experience has been consistent.

I was told by my server that the "well done" crust is their signature, so it's possible I'm just not part of the target audience. The problem is, they failed to mention this until we had already received the pizza. If blackened crust is your thing, Pizzology is the place for you. Otherwise, check out Napolese.

Whenever I see a new restaurant setting up shop on Mass Ave, I am always excited and hopeful that they'll stick around and bring us something new and interesting to a fun area of Indy. In a city where $5 Hot 'n Ready pizzas permeate the market, Pizzology definitely caught my attention with their fire-oven pizzas that use locally grown/produced ingredients. While Pizzology does present an interesting menu (chock-full of fresh, unique veggies and meats) and a very cool atmosphere (think rustic, but chic), after giving this place many tries to win me over I think I am going to have to settle on "It's okay".

The main problem I have with Pizzology is their consistency. I have had the Lucinato pizza several times here; every time it comes out different....the egg is overcooked...the kale is burnt (yes, they DO bake their pies in a fire-oven, but the kale shouldn't be so cooked that it's practically disintegrated on the pie) ...and there never seems to be the right amount of sauce on any of their pizzas.

Furthermore, many of the wait staff don't seem to understand that if their customer is unhappy with how their food has been prepared, they should attempt to right it. I'm not out for freebies by any means, but I assume that it's normal to try your best to make up for a bad pie by either having the kitchen make a new one or taking it off the check.

I hope very much that the Pizzology crew can learn from these little mistakes so they'll stick around and become a better restaurant. Really good gourmet pizza places are hard to come by.

Stopped by for lunch today after an eye doctor appointment over on the circle. I have heard of this place and wanted to try it out for myself. I know, it's another pizza place so I had pretty low expectations going on.

When you walk in they have someone at the door take you to your table. We were seated in the main dinning area with the bar kind of to my left. Our server immediately took our drink order and returned quickly. He explained how everything worked as we told him this was our first time. He gave us so much time to look over the menu. There is a lot to choose from. He also answered any and all questions that we had.

I was unprepared to have pasta, sandwiches, pizza, specialty pizza, and build your own to choose from. Oh, and they have a few dessert items too! They do have some drinks as well but appears to be just beer and wine from local places around Indy. We finally made our decision and we placed our order. I went with a 13" pizza! I heart pizza and this sounded tasty. It was a pretty basic pizza with pepperoni, cheese, basil, and peppers. I also got a side of their garlic dipping sauce.

Our food came out pretty quickly and it smelled so good....and it was good. I really enjoyed it. It was a nice take on a pretty classic style pizza. Since all the pizzas are cooked over flame it had a very unique flavor to it. enjoyed it so very much! I will say that I did not care for the garlic sauce and ended up not eating it. But everything I loved a lot. I like when pizza places come along and put their own spin on classics...you know something to make them stand out. This place has achieved that. My lunch partner had the carbonara and mentioned several times how good it was.

I was very happy with my experience here today and definitely will return again to try another one of their specialty pizzas.

Most over rated over priced pizza in town. Restaurant was uncomfortably hot. We ordered a veggie pizza with marinara sauce. The sauce was non-existent in some areas and toppings were extremely sparse and it looked like they just thru them on. There were like 4 mushrooms on the entire pizza and same goes for other toppings. It made for a very bland and and tasteless pizza. The restaurant was not busy so I can only assume thats just how they do it . For u Chardonnay drinkers, they do not serve it but, have some nice blends for a stingy $9.50 stingy pour.

Interesting atmosphere and nice servers but the pizza was subpar. The margherita pizza was nothing more than a normal cheese pizza with a few basil leaves tossed on top. It took a long time to come out and had very little flavor except for burns from the wood oven. Given the price and 'craft pizza' claim, I expected better.
