EHS installed a system for me in 2017. For a couple of years things were fine. I have had several issues which the company took care of but it took time and many followups. The staff there was really on a revolving door kind of thing. Never the same people. A little over a year ago I had to have a roof replaced. EHS sent a couple of nice young guys out and they removed and stacked the panels neatly. But AFTER, I don't know if the next team was employees or subcontractors but they did a terrible job of reinstalling the panels and reconnecting the system. Wires were hanging down and the panelscwere misaligned and all of this is done on a new roof. I contacted EHS and they did send a new crew out but they didn't do much. They can' just rip off the panels and start over again. And now, my system has issues and not performing up to its expectation. I have contacted them and tried to get them out but again scheduling service is a very difficult thing to do. I would not recommend this company for solar. Knowing what I know now, I would say buyer beware.

2nd Review:

Efficient Home Services contacted me about my first review and wanted to make it right. I'm not going to mention any names here but these are people running the company. So I was contacted about trying to get me to change my review. I stated at the time that I would if they would make things right. So the agent came out and diagnosed the problem and said I had a bad panel and was going to schedule a team to come out and replace it. Which they did. The repair team was at my house for about an half an hour and then left. I was told they would clean up any loose cables and to clean my panels. This they did not do. I spoke to COO and he said they didn't do those things because they just don't do that stuff. Let's go back in time. 2 years ago I had to have a new roof put on because a large tree fell on my house. Efficient said they would remove the panels and put them back on but I had to pay upfront of about $9000 dollars. I paid them because quiet honestly in the solar business it is a monopoly. The company that does the install is the same company that does the repairs. Who knew? They came and took my panels off and once the new roof was put back on Efficient came back and reinstalled the panels. A note here is I thought in my contract I had one time removal and reinstall for a roof. Efficient don't keep very good records of your contract so don't rely on a contract with them. The reinstall was such a thrown together job: wires loose and hanging out and panels not Secure. The job was done so poorly that another solar company installers pointed out how terrible a job it was. I have pictures of the wires hanging out from underneath and panels not fully attached. On to the panel replacement. About 3 weeks ago, the repair team came out and replaced the panel that was not working. All was good to my knowledge at the time. My system was performing well and no new alerts about panel deviations. Then Hurricane Milton came through. The new replacement panel came loose and was flying around my roof, banging against stuff. My wife and I thought we were loosing our roof but we weren't. It was this panel flying around banging against things. It settle on a brand new AC unit that I had just replaced and created a hole in the edge of my roof. My newly replaced roof. Now when I contacted the COO he acknowledges no responsibilities. Says to contact my insurance company which I did. The photos that I share here are just a few providing evidence of the shoddy workmanship this company provides. You may give this company 5 stars initially (I would've too) but wait until you need service then your opinion will change.

Frustration with Refund Process and Lack of Communication

I am extremely disappointed with my experience with this organization. In August, I initially agreed to have solar panels installed, with the specific request that they be placed over my patio. To demonstrate my commitment, I provided a substantial deposit as a sign of good faith. Following an assessment, the organization determined that my city would not approve the installation over the patio but offered to install the panels on my roof instead. This was not the arrangement I wanted, and even the salesperson inquired if installation over the driveway was possible. The organization declined, stating that rooftop installation was the only option.

I informed the salesperson that I did not wish to proceed, as rooftop panels were not acceptable to me, and I formally requested a refund of my deposit. On August 15, the salesperson confirmed that he would notify the organization of my refund request. After following up on August 20, I was told that the refund check would take a few weeks to process.

Despite numerous follow-ups—on September 24, October 4, October 28, November 11, and December 17—I continued to receive vague assurances with no concrete resolution. Each time, I was told my refund was in process, with promises of updates that rarely materialized. On January 17, after months of delays, I informed the salesperson that I still had not received the check, only to receive an unprofessional “thumbs down” emoji in response.

Frustrated, I escalated the matter by calling Brandon, the Vice President of Sales, on January 28. He seemed genuinely surprised by my situation and assured me he would call back later that day with an update on my refund. As of today, I am still waiting for that call.

This experience has been both frustrating and disappointing. It is concerning to deal with an organization that demonstrates such poor communication, lacks accountability, and delays honoring refund commitments. I would strongly advise others to reconsider before doing business with a company that fails to handle such matters with professionalism and integrity.

Efficient Home Services did not conduct a physical site inspection prior to selling me a rooftop solar system or advise me about the pitfalls of solar panels on my roof. Because they did not visit my home prior to installation they did not see the entire area surrounding my home is a wooded area with a lot of wildlife making the site unsuitable for solar installation unless a critter guard was installed to prevent the rodents from chewing the wires. Nor was I informed that installing a critter guard may or may not work and could require expensive ongoing repairs in the future, as well as quarterly inspections to avoid additional system failure. Therefore deeming my home a site that was not suitable for rooftop solar panels. The rodent problem is a well known issue in the solar industry and should be disclosed to consumers. This is a subpar standard in Florida. All solar companies should be required to do a physical inspection of the site, not a virtual one. I feel EHS was negligent in their assessment of the site when they could see all the trees surrounding the site even with the limited virtual site tour they did. For $46K the consumer has a right to expect more. My system has only been online for approximately 18 months with several calls for service regarding the tripping of the breaker, they advised to just reset it instead of looking for the underlying problem, which could have caused a fire with the wiring chewed through by rodents. Now they sent me a vague estimate of over $2,000 to rewire the system and install the critter guard that should have been installed originally. And was dismissive when I asked what brand and quality of the critter guard they proposed to install, stating it could be more if they used a different brand. EHS offers limited customer service and unreasonable wait times for service on a product of this value. If they properly disclosed the pitfalls of my site, I never would have installed the system. Update- October 2024. Still waiting for service department to rewire my system. My system has been down going on two months. Paying for FPL bill AND solar loan. Update- with less than 12 hours notice EHS came to install my critter guard and rewire my system. #Shameful I included photos of what it is supposed to look like and what EHS did. They installed by nailing the screen directly to my roof and covering in places with globs of white something- caulking? Not with clips as manufacturers recommend. Gaps , piece meal, 50% completed, sloppy unacceptable job. Could be roof damage? I am so disgusted. EHS billed me for rewiring my system and sent a notice the job was complete but only patched it and the system was down again in 2 days. Going solar should not be a nightmare. We need reforms and regulations.

We had our solar panels installed two months ago and our electric bill used to be 380 to 400. My bill this month was $86. They also installed foam in my attic which has kept my air conditioning running less and less every day. this is a beautiful company, very professional. Hayden is one of the people I’ve been speaking with very to the point. I would definitely recommend this company to anyone needing solar panels and or foam installation. Thank you so much for everything. And the company is a great company. Don’t hesitate. Call Them Thank you Hayden and His team for making this a great experience

I've been a customer of EHS for over 3 years. They installed a new roof in conjunction with installing solar panels. They did a good job on both ends and are always responsive to a few minor issues that have cropped up. Recently, Mo came out for minimal maintenance on my solar panels. He was polite, efficient, and a "take charge" guy who got me up and running in no time at all. I appreciated his responsiveness and intelligence. In fact, all of the EHS personnel I have dealt with during the past 3 years have been very customer oriented. You can't go wrong with them.
