Will go elsewhere in the future. They have instituted a new policy where they give you zero money for any appliance that uses refrigerant even though the refrigerant is has been recovered properly. They will conveniently take them as donations though. This is taking advantage of people that have no where else to go and they will no longer receive my business.

Mexican in back has a serious attitude problem,they give you some sort of breakage if u leave one screw in copper or brass and they've tare on their scales. 2 pound tare inside and 20 or more outside. Go to the new scrap yard by meat locker. They pay the same but no deduction or tares. Also you don't have to be one of alters buddies to drop off refrigerator or a/c.. And what was up with the satanic Xmas tree in alter

Terrible experience with this place, I was expecting to receive 8-9 cents per pound because that is what the going rate was at the time. Instead I received 5.5 cents per pound and not to mention the lady at the front desk was not very happy with me because they were closing in 1 minute when I came in after dumping my metal. Not very happy with this experience and probably won’t be back.

If you don't know the procedures, don't expect them to tell you -- and, by the way, it's your fault if you don't know the procedures. Really tough for the first time or two. They are not customer centric. You are there for them and not the other way around. So, now you know.

Prices are way way below the national average and you will get almost 3 times as much if you take it out of town to Peoria but if your stuck in Bloomington it's pretty much your only option for metal recycling.
