Unto the water tree offerings flow unceasing. There is a mind at work here the likes of which man has not encountered and cannot comprehend. The very effort of the consciousness to understand or record such an experience falters at once, you are tossed naked to the wind. All in all, an okay experience. The staff was very helpful but they flew into a rage when I drank the samples. I came here to get water for my fish tank but left in inexorable horror upon realizing my truer plight.

The Jardine Water Purification Plant, formerly the Central District Filtration Plant, is a water filtration plant located at 1000 East Ohio Street, north of Navy Pier in Chicago, Illinois. It draws raw water from two of the city's water cribs far offshore in Lake Michigan and supplies two thirds of City of Chicago consumers in the northern, downtown, and western parts of the city and to many northern and western surrounding suburbs (Wikipedia)

Filtration methods used by the Jardine Water Plant is extraction and adding chemical additives; with the use of sand and gravel to filter the water, while the chemical additives being fluoride to fight off tooth decay, phosphates to avoid corrosion from the pipes, and chlorine for disinfection.

Came here for my baptism but the gate was closed. Why do we even pay taxes if the hours are so limited no one can even in? Anyway there was a beach nearby so problem solved, but I was really looking forward to the best water. 3 stars bc god is good

I visited this place Jun 6th 2023 Within the vast expanse of the water purification plant, robots scurried with mechanical precision, their every movement choreographed to the rhythm of utility. They seemed to perform an intricate dance of practicality, devoid of any intention or purpose beyond their programmed directives. Each machine was a cog in an immense system, lacking self-awareness, consciousness, or any trace of individuality.

As I observed these tireless beings, an unsettling realization washed over me — their existence mirrored our own in a twisted reflection. We, too, often navigate life without questioning our purpose or examining the impact of our actions. The robots, while carrying out their tasks diligently, embodied a metaphorical critique of human complacency

I came here with a big appetite. I love seafood, and being right on the lake, I was ready to eat at least 3 gallons of sardines fresh from Lake Michigan. And who doesn't love fresh purified water to wash them down?

I approached the gate and placed my order with the waiter working. 3 gallons of fresh sardines and 3 pints of purified water. I proceeded to walk to the building.

I couldn't see a real area to sit down and eat like at a normal restaurant, so I just wandered over to the lake. Great view!

After about 30 minutes of waiting, I became concerned about my order so I went back to the gate where I had placed my order with the waiter. He said he didn't know anything about an order for sardines.

After several complaints, the waiter told me I could have all the fresh purified water that I want as long I calmly leave the area and to stop screaming at him about sardines. So I did.

And I got my 3 pints of purified water that I drank immediately. I hadn't drank water for 4 days in anticipation for this day. Delicious!

As I walked away, the waiter seemed to transform into some kind of robot, which was a bit shocking. Maybe robots are not capable of serving sardines, which caused the confusion with my order.

Great water! 4 stars because I didn't get any sardines.

I don't know how I got here or what happened when I left, but it must've been on May 26 because my mind is a blank slate regarding that day after my terrible experience at the Art Institute.

I can just remember being there, like I had teleported there all the way from Michigan Ave. Confused, I stood there trying to figure out where I was. I walked forward and stepped inside and saw a lot of very synthetic-looking people working with water. Must've been a water filtration place.

I asked one of the staff exactly what it was, but his mouth simply opened to reveal a small speaker that made a static whirring sound. Clearly wasn't going to get a straight answer at that point. So, I walked along this little balcony as I watched some of the staff work. I noticed they communicated to each other without words, instead opening their speaker mouths and just exchanging static noises, a change up from the crow noises I seemed to hear everywhere else.

The staff moved like robots, too. Very stilted gaits, similar to the zombie-like alien hosts I saw at the Adler Planetarium. Their faces had no emotions, either, and I noticed one I passed appeared to have green marbles for eyes.

I wasn't feeling comfortable, so I left. As I was about to exit, one of the guys handed me a glass of water. I rejected it, but then he told me he would turn me into a "water man" if I didn't comply, whatever that is. I didn't want to find out, so I drank the water. The next thing I remember is waking up in my hotel room the next morning. I missed my flight that evening thanks to that.

Amazing experience. All the other reviewers must have been in the wrong place. There is nothing as exciting as observing water filtration in real-time. Will definitely recommend to all my friends and family. It was the pinnacle of my trip to Chicago.
