Joe made the home inspection process one of the most informative parts of our home buying journey! He did a thorough job while also making time to discuss in detail any of the issues he was seeing, not simply telling us what they were but explaining what they meant for us in the near term and down the road. He made us feel comfortable buying a fixer because he was so educational with his findings. As first time home buyers in the Midwest we were nervous some of our questions might be "dumb questions" especially regarding winter weather but Joe made us feel comfortable asking any questions we had and handled them all with care and consideration. We had Zach of Insight Property come out to do an inspection during our home buying process in late Feb of 2022. At the time, we felt he had done a good job, having pointed out a variety of things that we had the previous owner then repair. That said, our opinion of the experience has drastically changed in the 1.5 years of ownership. We've had to invest in multiple costly repairs that all should have been picked out during our inspection. This includes things like improperly installed gutters, the wrong siding and window/door framing having been used, and no flashing having been installed. In all of these situations, the contractors we've had assess the properly all said this should have been identified during the inspection as they were very clear and obvious issues. Had we known all this, it would have significantly changed our opinion of the house prior to purchasing. As someone looking to purchase a home again in the future, I will not be using Insight and I'd absolutely consider a second opinion if you decide.
