I attended their 28 residential program in late 2012 and early 2013. I actually asked to stay longer and was allowed to. I've been sober since and today I am at 12 years, 3 months and 16 days. I am extremely grateful for them and the grant that allowed me to attend at a lower cost because I didn't have medical insurance. Of course I didn't right? I had nothing. By the time I came here I was at my personal bottom. I'm still in therapy and working on my recovery daily. Is this place perfect? No. But it's gives you a good foundation to BEGIN your recovery. Here as with any other place or person with addiction experience will tell you recovery never ends. So if you're looking for a quick fix to addiction issues this isn't the place for you. If you're looking for a place where most of the people there genuinely care and you want a good place to start your recovery then this is absolutely the place for you. Over a decade later I'm living on my own, I now own my own business and have a few genuinely caring and good friends. Thank you South Suburban! I believe in my heart if it wasn't for this place I wouldn't be writing this review.❤️

While I acknowledge the presence of some unfavorable comments, I would like to share my personal experience with this establishment, which played a crucial role in my daughter's recovery. My love for my child is immeasurable, and it has been heart-wrenching to witness her struggle with addiction, which significantly impacted her life. I had previously attempted to persuade her to seek rehabilitation, but she consistently resisted and even left facilities upon admission. However, during her time at South Suburban Counsel, the dedicated counselors, Nicole and Keith, were instrumental in encouraging her to remain and pursue her healing journey. Although the environment is quite strict and certain freedoms, such as smoking cigarettes, are restricted, these measures are ultimately for the benefit of the individuals seeking help. Therefore, I urge anyone facing addiction challenges to consider this facility and adhere to its guidelines. It has the potential to transform your life and help you realize the future you deserve. I am immensely grateful to Nicole and Keith for their unwavering commitment to assisting individuals in reclaiming their sobriety. May they be blessed for their efforts!

If you had 0 stars thats exactly what it was like🤬 thats not what it looks like either false advertising those pics is not nothing like where i was.It use to be a hotel before.deserve a law suit. The way they treat people in there. Its more like prison. I came for help and all i got was bed bugs . Covid and kicked out in the rain while i was sick as hell. No regards to my health had to beg to get back end just to call for a ride. Was told i had to go because i caught covid while staying there. You suppose to have help me. They only made my situation worser. Bipolar some of the staff there have serious issues there dame self. Oh my God i need more help than i did before i went. And i was a walk in patient. Wasn’t sent by no authority figures.law suit for real. I dont know what there spending the money on but they dame show anit investing back in there business . I i was written a book on my life experience with spiritual awakening and wined up writing about them. A family of love where did we go wrong not just a a group but as a nation and the world. Greed over need

I see why the rating is so low. This is an unprofessional facility. I called on Fri to set up an admission day. I was told there was a situation and I would be contacted in about 20 minutes. I gave my information and waited. After 2 hours I callback to find out that intake was closed. I haven't been able to reach intake since then. If this is how you all work before you take my money, I don't even want to know what happens after. I do not recommend this place. I'm annoyed too, because going into treatment was a choice, not a requirement. Now I have to start over. I'm not mad though. I would've regret coming here

I just left the Council yesterday afternoon and my lawyer will be filing a lawsuit against the Council including A counselor named Alina or Ms. Alita. I was continuously harassed by her and she even got in my face and smelled like alcohol 🥃and Newport Cigarettes!! My uncle David passed away just yesterday and she showed no empathy or sympathy to me especially during this trying time. 😭She also was being biased in regards to my Mental Health Condition even going so far as to say,"I do not care about your dead uncle and you need to shut up and take your meds"!!! I've NEVER been so disrespected and treated this way by anyone! She should be terminated IMMEDIATELY! Lastly, Shout-out to the BEST counselor period, Mrs. Rhonda Ball!🙏God is good all the time and all the time God is good! In conclusion, the quality of food is worse than Cook County Corrections and groups/ meetings were NOT being ran professionally. I'd give this place half a ⭐if I could!

The young lady that answers the phone has a serious attitude problem, should not be answering phone calls. Very rude and unhelpful.

I came here years ago. Was forced to leave on one of the coldest days we had that year I. The winter because my insurance wouldn't cover my stay anymore I had asked what happens if I can't find anyone to pick me up. They said I would have to leave and that's not their problem. I didn't get medication I needed for a week and left with a stalker...there were men and women hooking up in the washroom cigarettes and drugs being brought in. And someone got away with 20 dollars of mine that I supposedly used to buy medication but then later received a bill for.....
