I have wrote a review of this place back in December but obviously they did not put it on their website. This is an awful place to do business with, but unfortunately since they have a monopoly on the electricity in this area you have no other choice but to use them. I missed my November payment due to my own fault, but when I received my December bill noticed my mistake and had put a payment in the mail... REMC had decided on December 20th to shut off my electricity. Then as I called to explain to them, they demanded payment over the phone cause they had way too many payments coming in to check and see if they had received mine by mail... so $140 dollars later I did get my electricity turned back on. Now I did not receive credit for the double payment in December but have had 2 bills that are way over my budget amount of $60 even thou I have been living with my boyfriend in portage since November. So good luck to any of you that are FORCED to use this company

We have had remc for 23 yrs that we've lived here. They are the best in so many ways. If you're electric goes out I don't care if it's 3 in the morning you actually get to talk to a person. They're always polite and the guys are out fixing it within the hour. Thank you Newton county REMC.
