It's nice living here. Every staff is super helpful! Front desk package pick-up is 24/7. Would be better to have more desks and a bigger gym in the building. Nothing to complain about so far.

The previous five-star review was one I posted two years ago. I still agree that the front desk and maintenance teams are wonderful, but the leasing office is another story. I’ve uploaded the following photos to show how clean the unit was when I left. They’re charging me a $250 cleaning&painting fee (originally $275 before dispute) for a unit that was already clean—and frankly, it wasn’t this clean when I first moved in. Should they try to prove me what cleaning&painting they have done for improvement? I am still questioning!!

Additionally, they charged a $100 holdover fee because, after a year, no one notified me that the move-out deadline was noon on 08/31, not the end of the day.

Unfortunately, my issues with the leasing office go beyond that. I referred a friend back in early May, and they still haven’t paid the referral fee they agreed to—just provided me with a screenshot of the invoice. When it comes to charging me, they reach out numerous times, but when it’s time to pay, they don’t bother...

Okay, until late February, they sent me the referral fee to my email, like 9 months later after when it happened last May. They were being super slow, but did what they said, so I changes the ratings to 4 stars.

9/6/24 “1st review” for @vue53

From the time I have applied up to 5min before writing this review I have gotten outstandjng customer service, quick responses via email or calls. I have been reassured that my apartment wont just be ready funished and has a awesome view but that it will be clean upon move-in. Hint hint“as it should be when solo not roommate” type of renter.

I have read many reviews all saying how service is horrible, place dirty and security lazy, mean and not securing place as break in occur on their duty. I must say I have yet to see such when i visit or pass by. Tony in office was great assisting me today . Tony emphaty, compassion and reassurance on recovery seem 100% genuine.

Come rent a place from them and CALL ME YA BUILDING NEIGHBOR and meet me for game of pool or coffee on the terrace. 😃❤️

I will after 90days do a updated review.

WARNING: ROACHES (other pests as well)

My experience living in Vue53 has been nothing short of traumatic. When I moved into a private bedroom within a two bedroom apartment in August, the apartment was absolutely disgusting upon move-in--to the point where it was very clearly a health hazard. My bedroom had multiple spider and fly corpses all over the floor, there were multiple blood stains on the floor, the tub and toilet were dirty and uncleaned, the kitchen drain was clogged, and there was something very nasty looking under the kitchen sink that resembled mold. My mother and I had to spend hours cleaning the apartment before we could feel comfortable using it.

When I brought this up to the management team, they told me that "unfortunately," my roommate is liable for making sure that the apartment is clean. I'm sorry, but the last time I checked, I am renting and apartment and signed a lease agreement with management--not my roommate. It was the most unprofessional response and practice I've ever heard of and is essentially passing on their obligation to me--a tenant who pays them $2.2k a month to live here--onto my roommate and telling me that I have to take it up with them.

I moved to a studio shortly after, because I wanted to have the peace of mind of having my own space. Things seemed to be getting better at first, until I noticed even more pests: asian lady beetles, flys, and even german cockroaches.

After informing the front office about the first sighting and having a work order put in, my request was placed on "hold" and then eventually changed to "resolved" without a single person contacting me to tell me anything. When I further inquired the management team about this and they finally responded after weeks and even more sightings of roaches, they said that the pest control allegedly entered my apartment and treated it, but I never saw anyone enter my apartment ever. They told me that pest control could not come out to the apartment again until next month, and that all that could be done in the meantime is some spraying by maintenance that won't totally get rid of the roaches--essentially sending me the message that I need to deal with roaches for the next few weeks until someone comes over. I could not cook and had to spend hundreds of extra dollars eating out every day. I could not sleep because I feared that pests would crawl on me in the evening. I even got sick at one point.

Throughout the entire last month, I emailed and called management several times with no solution. I was instructed to email the regional manager for PeakMade Real Estate, who never responded to my email at all.

The only positive kindness of some staff and the nice utilities package. However, the overall experience has been terrible, especially given the high expectations set by their ratings. Many UChicago students agree that Vue53 is overpriced and low quality. If I had toured the apartment and heard from others beforehand, I would never have signed a lease here.

It is hard to have a bad day when you walk by the front desk employees. They're all so incredibly kind! Chats with Marion just make my week.

Terrible leasing office. I felt like they intentionally gave me the wrong information to charge me extra rent. At first I thought it might've been my fault, but the exact same thing happened to my friend. Other apartments in Hyde Park such as UPC, Solstice, 5252 are all so much better. As a student, I really regret living here and wished I lived somewhere else. It is really not worth the price.

I recently had the pleasure of touring Vue53 with Jordan Tackett, and I must say, my experience was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment I met Jordan, her warmth and welcoming demeanor set the tone for a fantastic visit.

What really stood out to me was Jordan's in-depth knowledge of the property. She answered all my questions with ease, demonstrating not just her expertise but also her passion for helping potential residents find their perfect home. Her ability to accommodate my needs and preferences was remarkable, showing a level of attentiveness that is all too rare.

Moreover, Jordan's interpersonal skills were impressive. She engaged with me in a way that felt both personal and professional, asking insightful questions and paying attention to the details of my life. This personalized approach made me feel truly valued and understood.

Jordan's presence greatly enhanced the viewing experience. Her kind and accommodating nature, coupled with her extensive knowledge, made me feel completely at ease and well-informed. I left the tour not only with a positive impression of Vue53 but also with a high regard for the staff, thanks to Jordan.

In conclusion, Jordan Tackett is an asset to Vue53. Her exceptional customer service skills and welcoming attitude are commendable. I would highly recommend her to anyone interested in exploring living options at this property.

The overall apartment complex is great. My only wish is that the units were larger or you knew where you were living before you signed a lease.
