The worst company for electric. Two outages in a month!
Plus my dad passed three years ago, found out when I paid the bill this month that they will be charging a $400 deposit to change the name on the account! I’ve been paying it for three years and they’re charging a deposit now! How is that legal! How sick is this company when they know no one can afford that kind of expense right now!
We need another option for electric ASAP! This company is despicable and should be ashamed of themselves for charging people deposits after the death of a loved one!

They were very courteous to me I went online to pay my bill like always. Somehow it didn't process through doxo and on my end I had a confirmation . They called to ask if I had forgotten and we were able to clear it up.

Your company is trash, whenever it rains a drop the power goes out. Are we offered a discount? A generator? Any option? Sorry kids cheese and crackers by flashlight 15 GD times a year. Your not at company, you're a farce. Oh but we have no choice so whatever right? You still send the same bill. Trash. Absolute trash. I'm literally moving out of Flat Rock because I cant count on the fact I will have power during a rain shower. You should be ashamed. Trash. Absolute hot garbage but who cares right? You still get your money, right? Close your company and let someone who knows what they are doing take over you clowns.

The Billing dept is rude and snotty. Besides that, I believe they cheat people because they have a monopoly on power in the Lawrence county Illinois area. I shut the power off to my house for a week and my bill is HIGHER then last months. I looked at my bill from 2 years ago and it is the exact same as when there were 6 people living here, now with only 2 people my bill is as high? For a “non-profit” company they’re some con artists. The office personnel people are very rude!! Especially anyone in billing dept. Talk down their nose ESPECIALLY if they know you receive assistance! Been going on for years. I absolutly DREAD calling them! The lineman however are always kind professional and down to earth anytime they've had to come do any work!

I used to dread calling Norris Electric. The people were once rude, and condescending as can be. HOWEVER, the people in billing especially have made a complete 180 in attitude. Although I was late, I was greeted by someone who did not talk down to me and allowed me to work a plan that worked for my family during a difficult time. Thank you. PLEASE, retain the attitude you currently employ..It is a much easier time than only a couple years ago.

Shady and unethical. Just because you CAN bypass state law and perform shut offs in the winter doesn't mean you SHOULD, especially when the household contains children and/or elderly. If you want to monopolize power services in so many areas, at least run your company (Co-Op) with the same compassion and basic human understanding as ameren. Luckily I did not live in a norris supplied area for long (due to an equally shady landlord) but in the future finding out a house is serviced by norris would be a deal-breaker in me considering the home to rent or buy.

I have found the Norris Electric people in the Newton area from the office personnel to the lineman out on the job, to be most helpful, intelligent, courteous, and resourceful. I could not praise them enough. I have dealt with Carla, Tim, and Ian among others. George Buening.
