I needed a repair on my Canon camera. They charge 35.00 for the initial evaluation which is applied to the final repair cost if you elect to have your camera repaired. Their repair cost seemed reasonable which also included a camera cleaning.

You pay upfront for the repair and they communicate via email with updates.

They have a storefront that sells a wide array of cameras and equipment for the beginner or advanced photographer.

They do camera trade-ins as well. I am glad I found them.

I can’t say enough about the team at Helix and specifically Marie

I recently brought my camera in to have some damages assessed, and the service I received was outstanding. Marie, who assisted me, was incredibly professional and helpful, even though she recently suffered a personal loss—her father passed away just a month ago. In a moment that truly reminded me of the shared humanity we all have, another customer and I took a moment to console her.
Losing a parent is one of life’s toughest experiences, and we wanted Marie to know it’s OK to lean on others for support.
It was a beautiful reminder that we’re all in this together.

The care and understanding I witnessed there was above and beyond. Not only did they give me great advice and service on my camera, but they also created a space where we could connect and support each other as people. Stopped in to purchase some lighting equipment after performing a google search for a local camera supply store so I could avoid purchasing cheap junk on amazon or ebay unknowingly. I was greeted by a very knowledgeable employee who made some great recommendations and pointed me in the direction of not only the right lights but made helpful suggestions on the stands, cases, tripod and cordless lapel mic. Since getting the equipment home I’ve been very satisfied with the items recommended to me.

I recently rented equipment from Helix and, after myself forgetting their store hours, their courteous staff reached out and helped coordinate the rental process. They went above and beyond to ensure I had a satisfactory experience with their services.

The rental prices are very reasonable and their equipment is top notch.

However, I would love to see them open their film selection and become more accessible to budget enthusiasts. I would love to have a local shop to bring my patronage to for my rolls but currently it is hard to justify the larger premium when compared to online shops.

Overall very satisfied with their services & staff and will be my #1 choice for equipment rentals in the future.

Don't bother bringing your stuff here for their sell and trade events. Made an appointment, showed up on time after my 1+ hour drive, and they had blocked off the entire morning to buy equipment from one person. Never received any notification from Helix other than to be on time for my appointment. I obviously wasn't going to wait the 2+ hours it would take just to get a quote for my equipment, so I left. I'll be selling it to an online purchaser.

TBH I've brought my equipment here in the past for maintenance and they do a very mediocre job. I only came here because it was the closest to me, even at 1 hour. I'm definitely just going to be looking for another camera shop who treats their customers better.

Traded in some gear for a new lens and they were fair with the trade ins so I’ll definitely be returning. I use to go often when they were in Chicago and they were nice back then as well.

Great little store. Marie helped me on the phone, then Roy helped me when I got there. I'm glad we still have a local camera shop; please support them! I picked up these couple of reasonably-priced lenses for my Olympus E-M10 III.

Helix Camera is the sort of quality, family-owned camera shop that photographers hope to find, but wonder if still exists. I’ve been a customer for many years. Helix is a warm and welcoming place staffed by avid photographers. It’s great to feel at home surrounded by lots of name brand gear that you can actually hold in your hands instead of only glimpsing in cyberspace. Helix also expertly services and repairs cameras and lenses. Customers are treated as valued clients whose needs really matter and who deserve the unhurried, expert attention, fair prices, and thoughtful advice Helix provides. Both Marie and Eric went the “extra mile” for me recently as they have before. That was very appreciated. I’m always happy to walk through their door, and look forward to returning. Helix is a “find” and really delivers. Very highly recommended. Easily 5+ stars.
