Dan was great! Here’s a long review, that I wish was better. First off, a lot of these things are on myself as I did not do enough due diligence as a buyer of a CPO vehicle (which I’ve come to learn is basically useless, unless you want to make sure the wiper blades are good, but not a leaking windshield!) My first time there was pleasant, test drive was okay. (low TPS warning during the drive, this is important) So, I went ahead with the purchase of the vehicle, they were able to give me a good APR with a payment at my desired price. Now is when everything went horribly wrong, I should’ve tried backing out of the contract rather than sticking to my word. I signed the RIC, and I was off, the Honda Civic drove great on the way home. I emailed Ben on 12/28 asking when I’d receive my contract from Honda financial and warranty paperwork, he tried calling, but I personally like to keep everything in writing when it comes to situations like this, no return email. A couple of weeks go by, nothing had been reported to Honda financial or credit bureaus. After almost 3 weeks it was radio silence, and I couldn’t make a payment. Well, it turns out they couldn’t finalize my retail installment contract due to them selling me a warranty they could not (100,000 mile warranty was not applicable to the vehicle.) I called Honda several times explaining the issue, and they said I didn’t exist as a customer, to contact Ike. My wife was the one to contact Ben as I was at work, they first said they had no idea what was going on. We had to press the matter until Charles said ā€œOh, we’ve known about this for the past week or two, we were trying to fix it, it’s because of the warranty, we can only sell you a 75,000 mile warranty.ā€ Ask yourself, would any dealer not notify you IMMEDIATELY once they realized you had their vehicle, and the loan could not be secured? No, they didn’t know about this issue until we raised it. They wanted me to ā€œsign over the phoneā€ which I would never do, and according to Honda they needed a ā€œwet signatureā€ or the contract wouldn’t be completed. It was at this point I should have went to the general manager as the RIC was null due to the fact the original RIC had terms they couldn’t fulfill. Like I said, I should’ve backed out, but I felt obligated to uphold my word on the original RIC agreement so I drove down on January 12th I believe to re-sign, I also had a question; Remember that TPMS light I mentioned? Ben said it was from the cold, which is understandable, except Honda used indirect tire pressure sensors (it’s based on one wheel speed being higher or lower, not direct sensors in the tires.) So, if that were the case, all tires would have deflated to the same ambient temperature, this wasn’t the case of course, the tire had a screw lodged in it (unbeknownst to me at the time,) I mentioned this to Charles and his words were ā€œBring it down Saturday and I’ll take care of it, I’ll let the guys know.ā€ I thought since having to drive an hour and ten minutes to re-sign was quite an inconvenience, and he meant that he’d fix the issue. Unfortunately that was not the case, we show up Saturday, the service department had no idea what was going on, but they squeezed us in. The service manager informed us there was a screw lodged in the tire. I told him what Charles told us that ā€œhe’d take care of it.ā€ Taking care of it in his eyes were for the service guys to look at the tire.ā€ Why would I drive over an hour for someone to look at my tire? This was now my third trip to Ike Honda. Service manager says we need the directional tire ($202) to make the TPMS not go haywire. He went to Charles, he wouldn’t approve the tire compensation. Now, I found out the weather stripping around the windshield is leaking. This isn’t covered under the CPO checklist (what? Why? But, windshield wipers are!? I made 4 trips in total to get botched paperwork and my tire fixed. And, stuck with a leaking windshield. CPOs are worthless. I’ve lost faith in Honda. Had a pro come look at it today, they also badly filled some chips in the glass Feel free to contact me.

Ben, Clay, and Charles were EXCELLENT to work with! My son wanted a car for his 16th birthday that would be reliable and showy, and the 2025 Honda Civic Sport was the perfect choice! Charles worked around the clock to ensure we could get financing, and everyone was so friendly and helpful. I will return to Ike Honda in the future!!

I leased a brand new 2025 Honda Pilot TrailSport yesterday from Ike Honda in Marion, IL. I have bought or leased at least 30 cars in my life, this was my 3rd Honda lease, and by far this was the best experience that I have ever had at a dealership. I felt that I got a very fair deal and was treated extremely well. The G.M., Roger, actually took time to sit down and talk with me for over 30 minutes, not about cars, but about life in general. What a great guy, and what a great Honda Dealership! My salesman, Ben, was professional, funny, understanding, and worked very hard on my behalf to get to a number that worked for both of us. I never felt pressured nor manipulated during the whole process. Charles in Finance was very friendly and took the time to answer all my questions. He also helped me with some warranty issues on my previous vehicle and went above and beyond his responsibilities as a finance manager in helping me.
The coffee bar was fully stocked and free, the facilities were clean, and all of the employees were very courteous and were excited about my new car. You just don’t find dealerships like this anymore. I drove over two hours because of the reputation of this dealership, and it did not disappoint. There were a couple of dealerships that were closer to where I lived but I saved a lot of money and was treated much better by simply driving a little over two hours to get to Ike Honda. If you live anywhere within 5 hours of this dealership, this is the place to go to purchase a vehicle. The couple in the cubicle next to us negotiating a deal with a different salesman drove all the way from Kentucky, simply because of Ike Honda’s good reputation.
Anyone buying a car knows the excitement and the dread of the purchasing process. I love getting a new vehicle, but hate the negotiations and all of the games that seem to take place in getting a new vehicle. Normally, I have a sick feeling after leaving a dealership like I was just taken advantage of, but this was not the case with Ike Honda. I felt good about my purchase, I love the way I was treated by everyone, and I love my new Honda Pilot.
I highly recommend this dealership and its service department, which is ranked as one of the highest in Customer Satisfaction in the state of Illinois. This dealership has received some of the highest awards that a dealership can earn from Honda Corporation for good reasons. I highly recommend Ike Honda to anyone considering buying or leasing a new vehicle, it’s worth the drive and they’ll treat you right! Hondas are great vehicles, but all Honda dealerships are not equal. Ike Honda in Marion, IL, is the absolute best Honda dealership that I have ever had the honor of visiting.
