Very frustrating, my husband came here a week ago and asked whats the requirements for the renewal they give them a list but they supposed to make sure that FORM OF APPLICATION MUST BE THE RECENT ONE. CAN YOU BELIEVE THAT I CAME 10:59 AM AND IM STILL HERE 1:33 PM. HOPE YOU UNDERSTAND HOW FRUSTRATING IT IS. VERY HORRIBLE PROCESS

Here are some suggestions for the mobile vending inspection:

1) Allow people to submit their paperwork online, either through an online application system or via email. Allow them to pay online. Then they will not have to be waiting in an office for two hours just so they can pay. Maybe if this is done, the process will be easier for the health department as well and the workers can spend a little more time being nice to people.
2) Have a better way of keeping mobile vendors updated on any changes in the application process. The only reason I usually know when something has changed is because I talk to other mobile vendors and hear about it. If I didn't, I would find out when I show up to the health department. I'm very thankful that I found out about needing to make an appointment before showing up here with my trailer. Did you send me something in the mail? If you did, I don't know. How about starting an email list to share updates to the application process? Can you make this information more easily accessible people?
3) Retrain your workers to provide proper customer service, treating the people that bring so much to this city and make it more attractive to tourists with the respect and humanity they deserve.

Walked in to get assistance with food permitting, these folks know they have city jobs and talk about power trips, the black lady with fake long braids behind the glass was so rude, condescending and obviously needs to be behind glass, the way she talks to visitors is disgraceful and disgusting.

This place is absolutely horrible. They turned away many trucks even though it is clearly stated both online and over the phone that is first come serve with inspections. Upon further review once you get here they tell you it's first come first serve to make an appointment. When trying to make the appointment, they said we needed to register our food handlers with the city even though clear legislation was approved recently not requiring this anymore. Then they want to charge you $31 for this which you do not have to do. Also they forget about you when you are in the office and do not communicate with other employees to insure prompt service.

Slow. Rude employees with the least amount of power anyone can get. They need to understand they work FOR the businesses and not the other way around. The food truck permitting is a joke. No one has time to wait to pay for a permit. Its a payment! Who makes other people wait to get payment?

There is on online application. Everything is just bad.

This office is well organized and helpful when trying to understand the Cityo of Austin regulations. Olympia is the BEST because she explains and has an answer for everything. The information sessions on Tuesday and Thursday are very helpful. As long as you do your homework prior to arriving and ask good questions, everyone at this location is there to help. 10/10 stars.

They open 7 45 am to 3 30 pm. It's located inside of building. Staffs were friendly and informative. I took 25 minutes to renew my food manager certificate.

This is the worst ran government facility I’ve ever laid my eyes on. They used the excuse of “we’re human” for their mistakes when mistakenly failing a food trailer and putting citizens out of work. They are lazy and not ethically sound and frankly don’t know what they’re talking about.
