MJM has such a terrible policy for having solar or anything sort of alternative energy that it completely negates the benefits of having it by limiting the size of the array and requiring a 1 million dollar policy you actually pay more monthly out of pocket then what solar power would save you monthly in electric it’s almost like this “not for profit” company doesn’t care about its customers and also against clean energy! Thanks MJM for being a garbage utility company. This is why Ameren is the power house in this state

What a great crew. What should have been a 2 day outage from severe storms was only a few hours. GREAT response time and hard work during a storm with heavy rains and lightning. That didn't stop this crew. They worked hard and efficient to get our small town back on the grid. Way to go guys !

I am a MJM co-op customer/member This company has the highest rates in the state of Il. and terrible customer service. I have requested that someone call me for an energy audit twice and both time received no return phone call. My bills for November, December, and January all averaged around $350. and this is with burning a wood stove non-stop, and a propane furnace. Before they put the new digital meter in My bills were around $150-$200. If you are thinking of buying a house in there service area, don't do it. they have threatened me with disconnection twice in one week even after receiving a payment of $311. I will never CO-OPerate with these blood suckers again.

absolute rip off!! every month they have a different charge on my bill never the same. i live in a small house and we live in the dark with no a/c and my bill still averages $175 a month. not to mention they have been charging me a security light fee for over a year and the wires are clearly cut at the pole!! stay away from any place that has mom as a provider

Tried to call engineering twice left a message finally had to wait on the phone while she contacted somebody and made sure I got help about my powerlines. Then they told me they would have the estimate to me. The same day is the next day and I still haven't heard anything. The engineering department is terrible.

Outrageous power bills and I’m sure getting ready to go up , since they are building a brand new building south of Carlinville. Power bill used to run around 230-260 , now it’s 350-380. They did do maintenance on brush and trees that greatly reduced power outages.

Don't buy or rent a home in MJM's service area.
There's a $40 service delivery charge every month added to your account. The price keeps increasing too. It's madning...

MJM has the friendliest employees!! I never understood what a Member-Owner was until I became a Member of an electric Cooperative. Now, I won't ever want to go back to a major utility!
