Worst thing about Ameren is that you can't report an outage if you are a renter and are paying electricity via your rental agency. They ask for an address and PHONE NUMBER. You enter the phone number of the agency and get "The phone number is associated with more than one active account. Please double check what you entered. If it is correct, we recommend you log in to verify your account and contact information."

But of course there is no account number because you are paying via the agency.

It's as though they intentionally do not want you to report an outage.

Worst electric company hands down the power goes out all the time they take over 7 hrs to fix anything and it’s 19 degrees outside with real feel of -1. My house is freezing because it takes from 6pm-3 am to fix anything power line? In what universe I bet I could learn how to fix it in 7 hrs

All Ameren cares about is your payment! Your power will be out, your food will be rotting! You and your children will we hunkered down in the basement as it fills with water. Meanwhile the employees will be sitting in their trucks waiting forever to flip the switch so they get all of their call out pay. I’ve never seen a company that has actual lives at stake that charges so much that actually makes you talk to a robot instead of a human! Illinois should be embarrassed for making this company their main provider of gas and electric! As a law enforcement officer and a home owner and a father I am ashamed this is is our only option. If 0 stars was an option I would use it. I’ve been on hold for the third time this week after light wind storms and now I need to replace lots of food and groceries and buy my children new fish for their tanks. My pool is green as I can’t run the filter and my car has ran non stop as I am using it to charge tablets and phones. While on my way to work I saw 4 Ameren trucks parked at Casey’s laughing and eating getting paid time in a half on a weekend meanwhile the rest of us are in absolute misery. I hope there is a community out their who reads this who will consider another option. They never have trouble calling or texting when a bill is due but when the power is out you get a robot!

Why can't I give ZERO stars?! First of all even reaching someone to talk to at customer service is a ridiculous process. When you finally do get them they don't listen or answer questions, instead keep repeating the same thing. I had a pole they are saying is not theirs down in my yard with live power. They cut the power. Which I understand is obviously a safety issue and needed to be done. But they simply left us without power and said it is not their concern. They refuse to help get power restored. I asked how to transition from this pole being "private owned" to one of theirs and they can't give me answer. Simply say it was a safety issue over and over again and it is our problem not theirs. Well it is a safety issue to leave us without power on a 100 degree day with high humidity too. To that they just say I need to call a licensed electrician to determine why it was on a private pole. Aren't they licensed enough to figure that out and offer guidance on what to do next? I am disgusted with the lack of care and concern.

Never had an issue with service, I have been living in LaSalle County for 20 years now, had outtages back in the day, very rare today. They fixed my street light the same day. I appreciate the hard work, the power never goes out when it's 75 and sunny! These people have to work in the worst conditions!

Scamming college students who are broke and poor. The months we do not live in an apartment from may-august our electric bill is still over $100 which makes ZERO sense we are not even using any electricity. Buncha scammers honestly.

Customer service is like talking to a wall. Just use you as a cash grab. Makes “technical errors” yet will hound you for money that have already been paid. If I could put a zero, I will in a heartbeat.
