Was absolutely baffled to check my doorbell camera to watch a truck driver throwing 2 trash bags out of his truck into my yard. After reviewing the video; it doesn’t even appear as if these bags were from my bin. The blatant disrespect of property when the homeowner is the one paying your bills is truly unacceptable.

Let me be clear; no matter who you work for, littering is littering. I will be filing a complaint with Groot, Oswego Township, Illinois department of agriculture, Illinois Environmental Protection agency, and the BBB. This incident also warrants a police report for littering. This kind of disrespect should never go unchecked given the fact that it is our tax dollars that keep Groot operating.

Horrible service!! Drive by and leave our garbage many times or only take one thing! Wish I could change service but stuck with them!!! Why pay the bill when they can't pick up your garbage? Or drive by it? Or actually seen them kick over the cans nice people you have working there! Maybe hire someone who needs the job!!

Contract signed almost 5 years ago one pick up time a month $42 over year u guys charging as $115 a month same service!
With existing contact to 09/2024.!
When we asked the sales manager Stive Plano office why?
Hi only said " I can do nothing for you "
When we want to cancel the contract hi said $700 penalty !
Two months ago he sent to as new contract to another 5 years!
NO WAY!
Don't tell me call to office !
Do something!
how do you can charging 3 time more like the contract said?
For what is the contract?
just for your rights?
You can do everything ?!
We your costumers nothing?
also your driver last time he threw the mattress from dumpster.!
where are notifications to the contract?
Before the sales said " you can put one mattress per pick up "

Five years ago we signed up for a 2 yard dumpster at the recommendation of friends. Service was $45/month for once a month pickup. Prices have increased every month by a few dollars and I'm now paying twice as much ($96/month) for the same exact service.

I take the dumpster to the end of our driveway so it's literally a three minute stop for them to unload it when they're in the neighborhood.

I can get ahold of a service rep if the truck doesn't come or I need an extra pickup, but trying to get ahold of someone in sales to talk about the rate is impossible.

Update:
I was finally able to get in touch with the sales rep who provided a five year contract at a much better price. The Groot service is good, just make sure to get a contract.

Groot is a clown show. If you're looking for a place looking for reasons not to pick up your trash this is them! Don't worry though, call them up and after paying extra money they'll come out a week later and pick up the trash they should have already picked up! The only reason we are with them is because living in Lake Holiday we are forced to. If you live in the Sandwich area and want good service go with Community Disposal. I miss that company dearly.

They are a bunch of liars..moved into new area, girl said to put of garbage in Friday. We did..never picked up. Talked to another girl said they would said someone out. Dispatcher decided they weren't going to come..no one called me to explain anything. Been lied to yelled at and again lied to. I guess this is why you find trash on the side of the road..you pay for trash pick up.and over a week later..it's still sitting at the end of the drive way...**** you.

In the years of us using Groot, we have never had a piece of garbage left at our end of the driveway! The only time that it was, was when I forgot to get an extra garbage sticker. Which is easily accessible at the Marathon, Groot office, or City Hall. Couldn’t be happier with the type of service they provide!
