Illinois Energy Solutions should be investigated. I don’t remember signing up within them. They can not show me a contract but say 2017 I signed up online under name Nicor Solutions changed name month later but sent me a letter. That is not this issue after paying $300+ a month for over 2 years I decided to log into my Nicole account. Needless to say I was shocked. Nicor says bill $45 but I paid $300. Just canceled and my first bill with Nicor $35

Needless to say have filed a claim with attorney general and Illinois commerce commission. iES admits they have charged me $6900 more than my Nicor bill would have been over past 7 years. $1000 more per year.
They have offered settlement that I have not agreed to because does not cover what they have overcharged

Please look at your bill and cancel ASAP.

I contacted them a month ago to service my furnace for check up. No response so today the furnace burners decide not to light. Next appointment December 10th. After 45 minutes of waiting. They don't understand it's 20 out and I have no heat.

my Bill this month is 2 times more than last month and I have the budget,. I checked the bill and have been charged 2 times, once on the 17th and again on the 19th, when I called to have it acknowledged, the customer service person told me it wasn't the case on their paperwork, however they are the billing company and Nicor has the double billing, her response was don't pay it, after talking again to another service person, he had me send a scan of the bill to their customer service dept. I haven't not had a response from them, since I'm auto pay, I stopped that and will pay Nicor what I owe, and am done with il Energy solutions

Stop giving them your hard earned $. There is no way that you are saving any $ using this service. It costs more than $25 a month, just to be an Illinois Energy customer, which is $300 a year. Illinois Energy is just paying your supplier(Nicor for me), and charging you more to do it. I switched to paying Nicor directly, and over the first 4 months, not including the savings of not paying them $25 a month, I saved more than $400. There is no way that this service saved me more $700 in a year. STOP PAYING THEM NOW. Switch to direct.

I switched to online bill pay, they put the wrong address(an email address I have not had in 20 years), I used the online service, it got rejected, and they charged me for "return service". Their fault, they charge, and have been overcharging me for years.
Bad customer service, overcharging, shady business practices, why would you give any$ to them is beyond me. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED...........

I have never written a review before. My gas bill went up over $100 a month with this company. On my bill there is no justification for the increase other than the name of this company. Either way I take the blame for using them. The issue I have is when I cancelled.
The first woman I spoke with said she sent me a cancellation confirmation email and that although I have a record of cancelling services today, I will be billed the same amount for the next two billing cycles even though I am no longer receiving there services. I explained that I understand it can take time to process, but when would I receive a refund for those payments because it is illegal to take money when there is a record that services are no longer being provided. She then told me it is standard practice and there is a recording of someone telling me this. I asked for the recording and she said "even is someone forgot to tell you, someone would have reviewed it and called you later to let you know...." She also said that the additional billing is on Nicor's end and not theirs.
I called back because I never received my confirmation email of cancelation. A much nicer service rep answered and told me they don't even send confirmation emails. At this point I reached out to Nicor and gave them a cancellation confirmation number to have the company removed from my bill and avoid any additional charges. To my surprise Nicor informed me that the additional billing cycles after cancellation is up to Illinois Energy Solutions because they are a third party provider.

Lesson learned. I did not dispute any charges I simply called to cancel and was told I will continue to be billed, lied to about a confirmation email, and when I asked for proof about their practices was told even if they forgot to tell me someone would have called me later..... I have been with this company since I got my house and enjoyed my service, but I no longer recommend this company to anyone trying to manage their gas billing cycles.

I entered a contract with this company thinking it was a service of Nicor averaging my bill. In fact it’s a “company” that overbills monthly, not at all based on my usage. If I hadn’t called to see why my bill was jumping $50 per month when I am snowbirding this could have gone on indefinitely. Their greed saved me. Stay away!!!

Beware of Illinois Energy they are not legit and is no way affiliated with Nicor gas. Do not send payments to them and Nicor. We luckily have contacted Nicor previously and have a credit with them. But this company had no idea about our credit with Nicor and states Nicor never advised of our payments to them Really how strange if you guys are somehow partnered or the supplier co. They keep sendin us a statement stating we are late and the bill is even higher than our Nicor bill When we called to confront this matter they stated we signed up with them in 2014 thru the mail Well how come we have no contract or letters stating this or proof of authorization. All renewals are sent by mail they say? So basically they jus automatically assume you want to keep their service and cont. the contract goin? On side note they didn't even have our proper email address on file, it wasn't even ours? So how can a company charge early term fee of $50 when we have no contract or proof of signing up with them from the beginning?
Im am waiting to see if they will send us our proof of authorization we supposedly agreed on in 2014 and all the renewal letters they said they mail out every year to us. We should not be charged any term fee they got our info somehow and we been gettin billed by them n Nicor luckily we pay online to Nicor so we have records of payments thru them...we never paid to this company and you shouldn't either if you didn't sign up with them.

I have been dealing with my dads bills since he passed away and discovered that this company was completely taking advantage of him. They were significantly over charging vs gas used. If he would have gone with straight Nicor he would have saved significantly more money. I think this company takes advantage of the elderly and others. I would never recommend this as option. If you search there name they recently changed it in April 2018 it seems.
