Very rude and unjust administrator at Cornerstone in Peoria Heights, IL. In just around 5 months of the new administration the census has plummeted from around 70 to the low 30s. The once great and family feeling environment has gone so stale. Do better!

I was employed there for most of my working like, 16 years. I had never had a single write up until a week prior to termination. I had a single write up, then three working days later I was terminated. Apparently I had three days to correct what I was doing wrong. I was devastated, I loved my job, I loved the building, and I loved the residents. It just showed me, it’s all about who you know and then I guess you don’t have to follow the disciplinary policy. Once you have a target on your back, you won’t stand a chance.

Would not recommend working for this company. I worked for petersen for two years and went through 4 different directors, all of which had no clue what they were doing or how to treat residents/employees properly. You will be told you have full-time hours but will never actually hit 32-40 hours unless overtime is offered.

The one in Enfield needed
condemned and might have gotten it already. Staff was terrible to the residents refused them food and bathroom use. They was upset about their $10/hr wage when they possessed $5/hr skills. If you careless put them in a Peterson place. I don't think there was ever any certified person there the cook cleaned the dump and also served as laundry attendant. Ive never worked in health care so idk what it really takes. Their residents I seen never had visitors or family that ever came they was abusive as well.

I find the negative reviews hilarious and written by terminated or lazy quitting ex employees. The types that want to work “just enough” to still collect benefits. Others blaming a company bc IL crooked politicians changed laws. This place has several facilities and plenty of protocols in place to make things work. I enjoyed it there and so did everyone else I knew. Most of the bad reviews are just from lazy greedy ex employees it seems. I’m not sure. 🤷‍♂️

This is the worst company I have ever worked for! They do everything possible to make things difficult for their employees. On top of not wanting to pay their employees. I waited 6 months for incentive checks for picking up extra shifts (that should be sent out monthly) I was hung up on and ignored by the corporate Office when calling to ask about those incentives and I’ve also not received THREE referral bonus checks for referring other employees. That’s over $1000 this company has refused to pay me after promising employees these incentives and referral bonuses. Even with documentation and papers being signed and sent. They just inconvenience their employees in every way possible and it’s sad to watch people who work in healthcare being taken advantage of from the company they work for and a company that SHOULD care about their employees.

Trying to reach a corporate manager is pointless. I was told to report horrible things that happened while I worked here only for her to ignore my calls. This company retaliated against its employees and does not care about them or retaining good employees with good character who truly love the residents.

Ive worked for 3 Petersen homes. I loved all of my residents and other aides/nurses but that was about as far as it went. Office workers do not do their jobs don't update the registry to keep our licenses up to date. Lots of unsafe lifting encouraged because of horrible condition machinery, always understaffed. Any time we asked for additional help was met with nothing. Corporate is money hungry and doesn't care about staff or residents its all about the bottom line.
