We received our first delivery from Filligreen and I am so excited to use our new detergent strips and wool dryer balls! We've been on a journey to use less plastic and to shop locally as much as possible and I'm very thankful that Filligreen is in Old Town Manassas!

Do you want to reduce your plastic waste, but you don't know where to begin

Fillagreen is here for YOU!

The owners and staff are very knowledgeable and friendly about environmental issues and ways you can reduce your impact without having to settle for less-useful products. Every product they sell is high-quality,ethically sourced, and EFFECTIVE. Their hypoallergenic laundry detergent, for example, is 2x as concentrated as store-bought, and is completely effective with even grease stains.

Furthermore, (within a 10-mile radius of the store), you can place an order online, they will pick up your containers, fill them, and return them to you. Incredible service.

They also collect "film plastic" (i.e. plastic grocery bags, cellophane wrappings, etc), which cannot be recycled normally, as it will clog the machines. This collected film plastic will be processed and go on to be made into Trex lumber for decks and benches. The owners want to be contributing members of the Manassas Community, so they offer occasional classes and events to bring people together and educate. (For example, how to make old books into art, such as the "REUSE" Book in the attached picture)

All-in-all, Fillagreen is a charming store full of useful, effective, affordable products, staffed by people who really believe in the 3 R's - Reduce, Reuse, Recycle (in that order).

The toilet brush here is the best I've ever used. It's small enough that it can actually reach the bottom of the bowl. Pro tip: dry it under your seat before storing in a jar to prevent mold growth.

The Dip shampoo bars here are also the best I've used - not overly drying but actually softening for my curly hair. Many cool products to try here.

Very cute store! My only problem with it was that this place is significantly more expensive than other refill stores I have been to. I usually get my shampoo bars for $15. It was around $25 here without discount. Conditioner bars I usually pay around $18. Here, they are a little over $31. I bought a shampoo bar from Fillagreen, and I haven't noticed any difference in quality to the ones I've been using.

Their dryer balls are a little over $6 each with buy 5 get 1 free. You can buy 6 organic, New Zealand wool dryer balls for $10 from places like Amazon or other refill stores/markets as well. I think prices like what they have here are why people think sustainable living isn't attainable or something they can keep up with. So, absolutely look elsewhere if you're in that boat!

At other refill stores, I've gotten-
-A locally made wooden soap bar saver for $8.
-A bamboo dish brush for $8
-Locally made charcoal Facewash bar for $10.

Overall, it was a lovely store, and the woman working was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. But if you're new to refill stores or just on a budget, there's absolutely cheaper options out there that are just as good as what they offer here!

This store is full of amazing eco friendly replacements and/or refills for what you are already using! The space is well designed and organized, and the owners are so friendly and knowledgeable. What a great addition to Old Town Manassas!

I’ve been getting the try-it boxes and managed to go in person today for the first time. (Unfortunately I live a hour away.) What a great store! I love all the options for eco-friendly products. I used to work with the owner, who is a friend, and I love that she and her husband have started a business that makes it so easy to help save the earth, a little bit at a time!
