If you know CCC era housing, you know these waterfront cabins. Very dated cinderblock bldgs. Fireplaces were blocked off for rehab. Kitchen floor was filthy. Shower only. Central hvac. Allowed pets. Acceptable for the price except the kitchen cleanliness!

Fantastic VA state park. One of our favorites. The Discovery Center was very cool and the park ranger there was super friendly and helpful. She even let us pet the hognose snake that lives there. We walked the Goodwin Lake Trail and saw a beaver, which was really cool. Played on the playground. Watched people fish. Visited the Office/Gift Shop. We we love to come back and stay in one of the cabins on the water.

Twin Lakes State Park was a great site for hiking and viewing the water.

Trails are very accessible from the Goodwin Lake side if you are on a day trip. Prince Edward Lake side is filled with cabins etc. if you are looking for over night.

Trails were very clean and well marked. Enjoyed circling the lakes and being able to experience nature in the area.

Didn't visit during lake season, but looks like they have some wonderful facilities.

Make sure you check out the historic markers detailing the parks segregation related history.

Another wonderful stay at another wonderful State Park. This is definitely a smaller park but that just made it all the more quiet. I'm sure in the busy season it gets a lot more use but we greatly enjoyed the peace and serenity. It was dead quiet at night and the only real sound during the day was the odd train. We stayed in cabin 9 and it was very clean and definitely nostalgic to the cabins I stayed in as a child. We were maybe 40 feet from Prince Edward Lake that we went out on numerous times in our personal canoe. The rentals were closed for the season when we were there but that is very common in the area. Saw plenty of wildlife and enjoyed multiple fires in the fire pit.

The Discovery center was quite fun and very reminiscent of things my wife and I both did in our childhoods. The copperhead snake they have in a tank was quite active and was all over the glass observing us while we were there.

When we went to the front office Ranger Mickey was there. He was extremely personable and kind and it was a great time talking with him. He also gave me a few pointers on where to fish in Prince Edward Lake and told me about multiple other places close by that are good for fishing.

We had an awesome time at Twin Lakes just like we have at every other State Park. Our goal is to visit them all.

We stated on 08 & 09 march and it was pretty great. Whole lodge was spacious with great view. I would suggest to visit it during fall to experience the nature's beauty to the fullest. Great BBQ & fireplace facility. Sadly,we missed entire outdoor activities due to daylong rain and cold. But the puzzles kept us busy for a long time 🤭. Kitchen has enough utensils 👍🏽. Our lodge was perfect for 16-18 people.

Clean shallow water 4-5 feet max with nice children’s swimming area. Small boat launch & rental, camping & cabins, hiking & picnic areas. Children’s playground & nature center with helpful staff. During the Summer season there are light refreshments for sale. I visit the lake to swim often & it’s rarely crowded, except on holidays.

This is one state park that we probably will not go back too. The lakes are beautiful however the camoground is small. It's not like most of the state parks where your secluded on your site with trees all around. You are cramped into the campground and can see everyone. The dump station in right onsite and you have to do some serious maneuvering to get around. I would HIGHLY suggest not taking a big RV in there. We are 24 foot/28 with tongue and it was tight for us. If you don't get a site on the same side as th3le dump station then you have to drive all the way around the camp ground and make a hard left. There was a small class A that couldn't make the turn. She had to go out of the campground and come back in. But the boating, kayaking and water play area look like fun.

Stopped by on a chilly spring morning. This place must be hopping come summertime. Lots of water access for swimming and boating. Nice playgrounds and a welcome and very clean restrooms was available. Enjoyed the short trail between the two lakes. Anytime spent by the water is so relaxing, especially in this fun park.
