I learned a lot about my solar panels today! Michael Olsen shared many details about solar and birds, specifically dove and pigeons! We have had solar for two years now and have not had a bird problem until this year! Seems that mourning doves and other birds are wanting to nest underneath our solar panels. Today I learned that they can do a lot of damage to our solar panels that would cost a tremendous amount to repair! The acidity of their feces can actually cause the panels to erode not to mention what it does to the roof!

Red River Energy does a fabulous job of cleaning and removing the “pigeon poop” off of the roof, even from under the panels, then puts up mesh and spikes to keep the birds from being able to get under the solar panels!

Michael goes up on the roof, takes pictures of any damage to the shingles, etc and his crew fixes/replaces everything on the roof to keep it doing its job of keeping our home protected.

Then the crew power washes the entire roof, cleans the solar panels and puts up the bird mesh! The crew even takes the extra time and effort to power wash the perimeter of the house so the ground is cleared of any roof debris.

Michael offers a very fair price for his service and is willing to work with his customers with a payment plan. We couldn’t be happier knowing that our roof is in great shape now and being protected from the elements and birds!
