Excellent source of books for kids, and if they don’t have some book, they’ll get it from another LA County library per your request. Great free workshops for kids, I especially love a music session for my little one. Staff is helpful and quick. The only drawback - we’ll, yes, there are some strangely looking homeless people, but they are doing what they are there for (hopefully, researching something useful on the Net).

Great location with lots to do . There are walking trails , electric charging stations, and a few shopping centers and the beach are all within walking distance . There are a few different lots and locations for parking. It is first come first serve . The chargers at the library and whole foods ypu need a charge point account to use. The other level 2 chargers are free. The tesla superchargers are located next to the blue bottle coffee shop

I love to visit libraries and collect library cards to use for the ebooks. This library is super confusing and hostile and that’s saying a lot because I live near the Berkeley Public library and it is much more insane and unsafe there than in Malibu with 30 million dollar houses.

I got my card and the librarian just seemed a bit off. I asked to use the bathroom which was not locked. I entered thinking it was a non gendered single use restroom but to my surprise it was apparently the women’s restroom I had entered. It was incredibly awkward. I feel that the bathroom signage is confusing and unclear(just a triangle on the door with a handicap sign) and that unlocking bathrooms kind of signals they are single occupancy non gendered which is very confusing if this is the first time you have ever been to this library. I guess there was a gendered sign to the left which I didn’t see as I was in a hurry to go finish the 7 hour drive home. I think the county needs to rethink the safety and bathrooms at this library because it doesn’t seem very intuitive.

The library has taken care of the homeless problem with the use of daily guards. The library has an active children's program. They sponsor evening talks by well known writers and they host a poetry program that meets on weekends. There is a very popular used book store within the library that is
open daily. It accepts donations of used and new books. All proceeds go to supporting the children's programs.

Great library to unwind and focus on what needs to get done. There is the homeless factor here but so far it hasn't been an issue with any threats or verbal confrontations. The security guard Mike is awesome and always welcoming.

The librarians barricade themselves behind the front desk, send the patrons to the self-checkout machines rather than help, and you need to ask permission to use the bathroom.

The tables are too tall for the chairs, and the noise level is terrible, a lot of it from the LOUD conversations at the information desk. But the tile rug out front is pretty.
