i wasn't initially interested in solar power until a friend of mine in the neighborhood got a ground-mounted system from Solar Service. Seeing his setup sparked my curiosity. He provided me the contact of jaime, the solar installer who worked on his. I received a quote from them, but wasn't sure if it was good value. So, i decided to do some research online. That's when i stumbled upon a kit for an 8KW system that was about 40% cheaper than the initial quote i got. However, the catch was that i would have to install it myself. Even though there was no pressure from the sales representative, jaime, to buy, he was always available to answer any questions i had. With the help of my son, i managed to install the entire system myself over the course of two months, working a couple of hours each evening. Being in san martin, i was worried about permit requirements. However, Solar Service took care of the drawing package and i submitted them to my local county building inspector. To my surprise, they were approved within a day. The whole experience was fantastic. My system was installed exactly the way i wanted, using quality components i bought from the same company. I chose Solar Service because they are based in san martin and are well-versed with our local permit and zoning regulations. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone looking to install their own photovoltaic system.

my interaction with this solar installer turned out to be one of the best experiences i've had with any company. a few weeks after getting my new solar system installed, 14 out of 20 panels stopped working. i've been in touch with the company and wyatt for a few months to get the micro inverters replaced. ashton explained that the issue was due to a power surge during some winter power outages. i'm not an expert on this, but i know my $40k system is supposed to last for 20 to 25 years. it's clear that power outages and power surges can occur, and these should have been factored into the system design. justin from the company told me that other customers had also encountered this issue. update: after six months of numerous calls with the company, they finally sent out the new micro inverters. wyatt and his team have been very supportive during this process and successfully installed the new micro inverters at the end. for those reading this review, i highly recommend ensuring that you have whole-house surge protection installed to safeguard such a large investment. i also hope that this solar installer will inform and recommend this to their future customers.
