Good explanations by guide. Short little boat ride. Slightly longer windy bus ride.
Of you've been to Carlsbad caverns, then this is small in comparison. But a lot more convenient of you're in Redding! Pricey too!

Great experience being in the cave. If you can, go in the winter so there's more chances of getting the full effect of cave water dripping from above from a recent rainy day.
There are a lot of steps, but completely doable.

You definitely get closer to natural formations than many other cavern tours but the tour is relatively fast. You will mostly be chasing your tour guide.

Unreal place. Caves are amazing to watch. It's about 500 steps so be prepared to hike. Inside the caves it's really cool and nice. Take a ton of water. No bags allowed and there is a boat ride that takes you to other side of the lake and a bus ride upto the caves. Don't touch anything and rem to take your trash with you.

The caverns are stunning and such a fun thing to see in person. They let you know about the tons of stairs that they have and if you aren't in the greatest of shape it might be a challenge but not impossible. It was even a fun experience for my 7 year old. If your family likes natural attractions this is a must see. Lastly the gift shop had tons of affordable pieces and we were happy to bring home some little mementos.
