My experience with KOTA has been extremely disappointing and frustrating. KOTA partnered with my roofer, demanding FULL payment for their services and promising to pass along the roofer's share when the work was complete. The roofing work was completed on May 26, 2023, and according to the agreement, payment was due within 10 days, by June 5, 2023. However, more than 15 months later, KOTA has failed to pay the amount owed to my roofer.

I reached out multiple times for updates, and finally, J.J. Hyde from KOTA shared in a text message that "KOTA has been having cash flow problems for quite some time. They are doing all they can to survive, which means they need to keep installing new jobs while they catch up." He also mentioned that "there is a solar panel manufacturer interested in buying 50% of KOTA, which would take care of all these outstanding payments, and they are hopeful this will go through in the next quarter." Doesn't sound like a very optimistic future for them.

Despite these explanations, it has now been over a year since the work was completed, and KOTA has continually delayed and avoided making the payment. This behavior is unacceptable and feels like they are effectively stealing from a hardworking contractor who completed the job on time and as agreed.

Throughout this drawn-out process, I have repeatedly contacted KOTA for updates and resolution. Each time, I received vague responses and empty promises that the debt would be settled. More than 15 months have passed, and we are still waiting for KOTA to honor their contractual obligations.

If you are considering working with KOTA, be aware that they have demonstrated a clear pattern of delaying payments and failing to communicate transparently. How can you trust them when they tell you need to upgrade your new panel? How can you trust them when tell you need more panels to offset your energy usage? You have no way of knowing if this is simply an effort to get more money out you. I strongly urge individuals, contractors, and businesses to think twice before engaging with this company. They do not honor their agreements and have shown a blatant disregard for fair business practices.

I had an exceptional experience with KOTA energy. I worked directly with two lovely gentlemen, Tyler and Travis, and they were kind, communicative and efficient. I had panel work done and an EV charger installed. I could not recommend this company and their staff enough.

We had 22 panels + 22 inverters installed on our roof. The crew was fast, efficient and very polite throughout the whole installation. Dealing with Michael from the very 1st phone call onwards was always a pleasant and no BS experience. He was honest and upfront and I never felt any pressure to move in a direction we weren't comfortable with. Highly recommend the crew at KOTA!

We recently invested in Solar energy from Kota Energy, Ryan was our saleman. We could not have asked for a more knowledgeable and professional sales person. Ryan provided us with an education explaining every step in the process. He asked what we wanted from the system then made sure that the system we purchased exceeded our needs. I would recommend Ryan and Kota Energy to anyone thinking of going solar.

I had an amazing experience with KOTA. The installers were on time, clean & professional. My sales rep was McKay Hyde and he went above and beyond thoroughly going over our statements to show how much we would save and it definitely has cut down on our monthly bill considerably. McKay has check in several times to make sure they system is working properly and walked me though my statements so I could understand what I’m looking at. KOTA was the first company to explain it in a way that I could understand and felt comfortable moving forward. I highly recommend them to all my neighbors who have since had KOTA installed.

I am leaving this review as a roofing company that worked as a subcontractor for Kota solar company. Cole is bad business!!! I installed 3 roofs, equating to over $50,000 in work, and I was never payed. They are thief’s and inconsiderate of my livelihood. I have taken Cole to court and still have received a single dollar from them. I can’t believe that there are people that would steal another man’s hard earned pay.

Be really careful with this company because they are not honest people. I am leaving this review to warn everyone of coles corrupt business.

Mandy is thorough, knowledgeable, makes the process seamless with attention to detail and constant communication from start to finish.

Prior to connecting with Mandy I was lost with the whole process and what I needed. A Solar company came through our neighborhood and had a lot of promises and was very pushy to sign contracts (get a quote, if they can’t give you one…move on).

Bottom line…if you want the best service, installation and understanding…Call Mandy!

We had Chris Garcia as our sales rep. Great guy, super professional, and caring about our needs and budget. It all came together with genuine ease. There were no high-pressure sales tactics; we told him we needed to think and research his information, and he said to give him a call when we were ready. He was true to his word and waited until we called. We are pleased with the panels we purchased. It’s been over a year, and we recently received our settle-up bill from SDG&E, and our bill showed, in our favor, a $300.00 credit. We didn't try to save on our energy last year. We ran our heaters and the a/c when needed and still saved money. Our electric bill came down from almost $250+ a month and rising, to less than $140.00 a month for the system we purchased, and we stopped sending any money to SDG&E.( we are on propane where we live ). The Kota Solar company is legitimate, with no hidden fees or surprise bills. They are the highest-rated solar panels on the market and use up-to-date technology. If you receive a knock on your door from a Kota sales reps, we hope you will give them a chance to help you save money on that ever increasing electric bill. With the garbage, our CA Gov Newsome is doing to us. Our gas and electric bill for the average family home is going to be upwards of 300-500 dollars a month. We are practically being scammed by our state government and this new energy tier system. We are grateful we chose to purchase our solar panels. We like this company so much we are the thinking of purchasing the battery storage system in our future so we can retain more of our generated power. In closing, this is a good honest company and they know their product well. Thank you.
