Tristan and EV Solar builders recently installed our 17 panel, 5.6kw system and we could not be happier! The whole process was so easy and Tristan was very professional. He gave us multiple options to go through and made sure we thoroughly understood everything upfront.

Originally we didn't want solar panels on the front of the house, but eventually I convinced my husband to have one row one the front and it looks so clean! Again, Tristan was so accommodating and made sure we understood the difference in having solar panels on the front vs the back of the house and how much it would save us for both options. Tristan also didn't try to upsell us on anything - he knew our electrical panel could only handle so many solar panels, without upgrading and didn't want us to have to do that.

The crew worked very fast and the inspection process was easier than expected and was handled by Tristan. Overall it was a great experience and I would highly recommend EV Solar Builders! We are already seeing a huge improvement in our electricity bill and can see how much energy we are generating through the app!

I recently had Tristan and EV Solar Builders install a system including solar and an LG Chem battery on my home. The process was straightforward and very easy dealing with Tristan. Also, being in sales most of my professional career, I am always wary when I recognize a sales tactics being used (which definitely happened when I spoke with some of the OTHER solar companies). I think it shows a lot of professionalism and integrity that Tristan actively challenged my initial desire for a battery backup system to be paired with the solar system given that it adds cost. Ultimately, we both agreed that it was the right decision for my family to have Battery Backup + Solar because of the added reliability and independence that it brings, especially since we work from home at times.

Once we settled on the system Tristan was able to help me get great terms on the financing, then the permit process and installation were all taken care of by his crew with minimal effort from me. Installers were clean and accommodating, the project only took 2 days to complete a considerable amount of work and it looks great now that it is complete.

The solar system + battery backup were only installed about 3 weeks ago. Yesterday morning my family woke up to a text from a neighbor asking if our power was out (SDGE) like their's was. Initially we looked up at our ceiling fan (spinning), lights in the bathroom (on), T.V. our kids were watching (on) – then it dawned on us – We are on BATTERY power! It did not take long before the system got a real world test and it passed flawlessly. The outage lasted for a couple more hours and we were even able to offer our next door neighbor access to our Wi-Fi so she could continue working from home on a laptop during the outage. There is a definite sense of security knowing we will still have the power we need at our home, regardless of what is happening with SDGE.

I have already referred many friends and several family members to Tristan and EV Solar Builders – So Yes, I recommend you talk to him if you are contemplating solar (especially if you are on the fence, because the numbers pencil out a lot better now than they did even just a few years ago).

I have used Tristan TWICE on my home solar panel purchases. Once in 2010 and once in 2018. Both times Tristan made sure the build was made to MY order, not his. I am happy with both installations and the support I received from him, and Cannon the installer, is impeccable. Tesla gave me a quote for TWICE as much as Tristan had quoted. Currently my monthly bill is negative (I'm using the whole house fan right now and not A/C). So why pay twice as much? Being a CS major I'm pretty nerdy and love numbers. What I've found with working with Tristan is he likes to be realistic as well. He asked for A/C power requirements, pool pump requirements, etc. If it was cheaper to replace those units, he would suggest that INSTEAD of buying panels. To me this make sense. I will recommend EV Solar Builders all day long."
