I’ve been calling every 3 weeks since August and my issue is still not resolved. Passed from one department to the next and since there is no main point of contact, every time I call back I get a new agent and I have to explain the issue all over again, only to be reassure they will handle it and call me back once it’s handled. But here we are 3 months later in the exact same position.

And for context, I am just trying to get a new meter put in my name, but since it’s a new meter it’s not in their system yet, so it can’t be transferred. This seems like a pretty common process you’d have to be able to complete being a utility company so PLEASE FIGURE IT OUT and stop wasting my time.

All the news outlets keep saying that the mamorandum is over and the AES will start shutting off power after the 15th. But I haven't heard that from AES yet, and everyone I've talked to say they haven't heard that yet. I still can't pay my bill online so is their system even actually fixed yet. Or are the media outlets just trying to scare people into trying to figure out how to pay the bill.

Ironic, IPL Power I didn't have many issues. AES takeover - price increases, while service decreases. I mentioned issues and was told to call they can't help over email. I call and they can't help over the phone and said I should email. I've had several brownouts, some completely unrelated to weather.

Piss-poor company. Let’s start with the fact I’ve had established, GOOD credit for 7 years. I moved and was forced to go through AES. They decided to charge me $216 for a security deposit, to which I asked why that would be since I have great credit & others I know didn’t have such a thing. Upon calling, they couldn’t tell me other than basically it being “pick and choose.” Unreal. Then, they tell me “you can split up the payments and when they are complete, that money will go towards your following bill the next month. I agreed and said I’d like to split it up. FIRST bill I get included the entire $216. I decided this company is already beyond help, so I’ll just pay it now and my next month will be covered. Nope! I get a letter saying they received my $216 payment and that now, in order for it to be credited to my future bill, I have to make 9 consecutive payments OR establish better credit history. I have had car loans, student loans, credit cards all in my name and paid with again, a very high score. I’m under the impression these people are con artists. Rob whoever they can when they can. I had no choice, I need my lights.

Oh, and if you happen to run into the same issue, good luck getting someone on the phone! And if you somehow manage that, ensure they’re competent because it seems they don’t have many in this company that are.

EDIT: I called and finally was able to speak to someone, who said they understood my situation and wanted to help see if they could credit my required down payment to my current bill. They said they would call me back before EOD. No return call. Called two days later and the representative sounded more like she was reading lines and trying to start an argument than be helpful. When I was explaining my frustration, she would unmute her mic and still be laughing. She was not willing to help, only read her script she had and laugh. This company will hire ANYONE they can find to work these phones. They are lazy and do not care about you. They care about making their $16/hr and getting you OFF the phone.

TRASH COMPANY AND LEGISLATION NEEDS TO FIND SOMEONE ELSE TO RUN THE POWER!

Forced to use this company. We are now getting charged for someone else’s meter reading at our apartment. Hiring a lawyer because this is NOT right. On our power bill it even states the wrong meter number.

They only get 1 star becuase google makes you give a minimum of 1 star. They are price gouging everyone. They don't like to answer the phones and do not provide any answers either. I am more angry that they have a monoply so they are not incentivized to provide a better service. I would cancel in a heartbeat if I could. Unethical is a great word for this organization.

I would rate this company zero stars if I could. On December 20, 2023 my bank transferred my payment via bill pay. On December 27, 2023 my payment still had not been applied to my account so I contacted AES about the missing payment. This is where the problem started. I was given the standard statement about the system conversion, etc.

Anyway I was told the issue would be researched and corrected On February 22, 2024, my bank sent AES a notice about the missing payment including the trace number, account number, and other information related to the payment. It took 9 months, over 20 phone calls, and a BBB complaint about this company to get the issue resolved. I have NEVER experienced such horrible customer service from a company. Rude, ignorant, and untrained representatives never once followed up. Hung up on me when I tried to get answers. Refused to let me speak with a supervisor. Apparently you implemented a new system without testing it first. I’m not sure why this utility is allowed to maintain a monopoly on our electric system. “ We” as the consumer have NO choice but to do business with them. This needs to change so “we” as the consumers have a choice who gets our business.

Anyway, two weeks after I filed my BBB complaint, I received a response that my payment had been located and that an extra 0 had been added in the account number. So this issue should have been resolved on December 27. 2023 with 1 phone call.
