Had to call Alaska Waste in November because they only picked up our dumpster once that month. Had to contracted them again in December because they, again, emptied or dumpster one. It took a week for them to pick up or trash after Christmas so we canceled their service and went with Peninsula Refuse. They sent me a bill for January, even though we canceled their service in December, and, they refuse to get their dumpster off my property. It is the middle of January and it is still here. Legal action will be sought, or the dumpster becomes mine. Permanently.

Absolute scam artists! They told me that the entire cost of getting a dumpster delivered and removed to the dump would be $250. They did not tell me about the fact that there is a rental fee of $75 a month and an additional fee for taking it away. They lie to you about how much it costs then charge you with hidden fees. This is a business that takes money out of the honest working-man's wallet. Use someone else if you need a dumpster!

They put a large dumpster in front of our garage, which is blocking us from getting our plow out. Sure we wanted it there, but we expected that they would remove it when given a week's notice. Since Friday, they have told us daily that they would be picking it up by the end of the day, but it's still there. Now they've known more snow was coming, and after 5 days of telling us they'd be out that day, the snow is here, and our plow is still stuck in the garage. Now they won't remove the dumpster because of the snow. We even shovelled out the drive for him and the driver wouldn't even attempt it! Even with having chains, gravel, our two trucks and tow straps, and my offer to cover a tow truck should we start to get stuck. Do not use them unless you want a permenant addition to block your driveway.

We have been happy with our service for 3 years now and just this last month we've been charged double, so i changed my pickup to once a month and I've been charged double again!! We used to pay around 40 dollars a month for weekly pickups and now they want 85 dollars for once a month. Something isn't right here. If it's not resolved then we are switching to peninsula refuse.

Rather than the long drive to the dump, we gave Ak Waste a try for home pick up a few years ago. They have been fantastic to deal with- on time, dependable, responsive if don’t need pick up adjust bill, etc. They are just great!! The Lauvers

We’ve had Alaska Waste for a year now and I have nothing but negative things to say.

They are never timely, we pay for a service we don’t receive. They’ve double charged us, just to NOT have any service.
We switched over to the small bin 3 months ago, our trash can has been sitting FULL for A FULL MONTH now. It’s to the point we’ve been taking our own trash to the dump. We also had to ask for them to empty it LAST TIME due to the same issue.

What are we even paying for? For your trashcan to advertise for you while it sits full of the same trash for an entire month? What a joke. 1 star. We shouldn’t have to remind you to do your job.‍♀️
