**5 Stars – Smooth Experience and Great Customer Service**
I had a really positive experience with American Array Solar. I wasn’t sure what to expect going into the solar process, but their team made it surprisingly easy. They were patient with my questions (and I had a lot), never pushy, and explained things in a way that made sense.

The installation went smoothly, and the crew showed up on time and cleaned up after themselves, which I appreciated. Everything has been working great since then, and I’ve already noticed a drop in my energy bill.

What stood out the most was how responsive they were—even after the install, they followed up to make sure I was happy and understood how to monitor everything. Overall, it was a solid experience and I’d definitely recommend them if you’re thinking about going solar.

1) My solar and battery system is working beautifully. At last!
2) I received a phone call from the new Operations Director who impressed me with his professionalism and genuine interest in hearing about my experience with the company. He got an ear burning and is delving into the problems to improve their service. I was one of many others he called, doing his due diligence. Grood man. I've raised my rating from 1 star to 3 on the assumption that a new exec is making positive changes.

Something has changed at this company, not for the better. I had a super great experience with American Array installing the solar panels on my house in 2023. However, I have had a Nightmare experience trying to get a battery backup system added. I started the process and bought the batteries in November, 2024. THE INSTALLATION STILL ISN'T DONE (March 2025). Every step of the way was delayed, done incorrectly, they didn't have the right parts, Oops we ordered the wrong part--more delays.

Finally the system was just hooked up today on March 17, 2025, and I see that the app shows it to be incorrectly configured and my batteries are filling up from imported electricity from PG&E, not my excess solar energy production!

ARGHHHHH!!!!! There is no reason to connect the batteries to the grid at all!! The whole point was to save the excess solar production. I called American Array to get this changed; they say they can't tell if the corrected configuration is working until the batteries are at 100% to see if they are still drawing from the grid. (!!) Bogus.

I'm frustrated beyond belief dealing with the installation issues...after all this time, it still isn't right. I want to cry and eat ice cream. Avoid a similar fate!

We went with American Array in 2023 due to three reasons: price and "Elite" Panasonic authorized installer (highest rank installer from Panasonic) and A+ BBB rating. 8K watt system consisted of 20 - 400 watt panels with Enphase micro inverters and combiner. The system was based on Net metering where you try to break even after each year. Buy having American Array - Elite authorized installer, we were able have the system warranty covered by Panasonic - ALL Guard 25 year system warranty. Based on the great price offered for the 8K system and having a Panasonic Elite installer, we went ahead with the purchase.

After two years of Net Metering service, we are happy to say our bill for electric only was reduced to about $20 per month that saved about $200-300 dollars per month. Based on the electric savings and 30% tax credit, our payoff is about 6-7 years !

I usually don’t write reviews. But this company installed my solar panels a couple years ago. Evreything was running good until I did an upgrade on my panel. Long story short. I’ve been trying to get this company to reconnect me to the app for several months now since I have tried with the troubleshooting they gave me. But just reschedule of appointment after appointment with their technician. When a technician finally came out to do the work he told me he was not touching the system because pg and e had moved the equipment. They left and I’ve never received an answer or a cal back. Panels are working still but I can’t see what they are producing.
A simple fix technician was there and did not want to troubleshoot.

Consumer Nightmare: A Case of Financial Exploitation, Negligence, and Disregard

I have endured nearly three years of stress, financial loss, and appalling service from this company. They took $12,500 from me upfront, destroyed my front yard, and to this day—no work has been completed. I’m now facing additional financial losses from inflated PG&E bills, all while being ignored by their customer service team, particularly Mary Raoufu, who consistently refuses to take calls or respond in a timely manner. Email replies come only after five days—if at all.

Initially, I was quoted for a solar panel installation and instructed to coordinate with PG&E for a panel upgrade. I paid a $1,000 deposit plus 50% of the project cost. I was then left to handle all PG&E-related inspections and installation costs on my own, despite these being part of the project.

After two years of delays and miscommunication, the company attempted trenching work—only to rupture my water line and leave my yard torn up for three months. When PG&E finally inspected, I was told the trench was improperly placed along a water pipe, making it completely noncompliant for electric cables.

Now, they claim they want to go with a subpanel upgrade instead—but conveniently deny ever receiving my 50% payment. I provided them with bank statements and even a photo of the original check, yet they continue to stall.

This company operates with zero accountability, gross incompetence, and what frankly feels like intentional deception. Their service is not just poor—it’s exploitative. I’ve been left to navigate endless bureaucracy, financial drain, and property damage, all while being ignored.

There are plenty of reputable solar providers out there. Avoid this company at all costs. They are dishonest, negligent, and utterly unprofessional

We had the privilege of working with Omar on our Solar for our first home in 2021. He walked my wife and I through the entire process, never hesitating to answer any and all of our questions. With his abundance of knowledge, we were able to figure out exactly what worked best for our family and our new home. We Referred him to all of our friends and family who were looking for solar options. He is always available even years after purchasing our solar he still keeps in touch and answers any questions I may have. We are in the process of purchasing our second home and he is the only person we trust in helping us with our solar.

I am extremely happy with the system and service from American array solar.Right from the quote process, to explaining what happens when, seamless installation to the PGE approval process they were on top of things.I have referred my friend after my experience and he has a system as well. Adam has been there for me from the beginning. Recently I had an issue because of the storm and he was very proactive in sending a technician and getting the issue resolved immediately! Adam also followed up diligently to make sure there were no further issues. I highly recommend American array solar.
