After discovering apparent gopher tortoises on my future home site, construction ceased before it began. Desperate for a solution, I reached out to several authorized agents to learn how to resolve this issue at a reasonable cost. However, to my despair, reasonable pricing seemed nonexistent in this profession. Stressed by the unexpected financial burden, I began to research all options including obtaining an FWC license myself when a coworker recommend Apex Biological Services, LLC. Full of skepticism, I reached out to Mark Lafurno owner and operator of Apex Biological Services, LLC. To my relief, Mark was competitively priced as well as very professional. Moreover, he understood my need for a rapid outcome and was willing to take on this task immediately. Within two hours of our conversation, he walked the site, compiled a survey, and submitted his completed proposal. Thereupon, we agreed on terms and he applied for a gopher tortoise ten or fewer permit on my behalf. Seventeen days later, Mark, in compliance with all FWC guidelines, had cleared all burrows and relocated one tortoise to a recipient site.
