You guys are really the absolute worse. You came out to my house, told me I had a meter problem and have to get it fixed. Its YOUR METER that's messing up and now itโ€™s my problem. So now i have to get an electrician to replace the meter plus get it inspected. AEP IS THE WORSE COMPANY. Your equipment is faulty and you make it the customers issue to fix it. Oh and to top it off this is some โ€œnewโ€ thing so no one really knows how it goes!!!

I started the process of obtaining temporary power 5/31. It is now February and after countless delays on behalf of AEP and scheduling I am still without any temporary power. For the 3rd time, contacting Customer Service, 40 mi ites on the phone, I was advised I would be transferred to someone in the Lovingston, Va area that would expedite my work order. The phone rang at least 20 times, no one answered and I started getting a busy signal. I have no choice but to use AEP but will be filing a complaint with SCC, BBB, and Attorney Generals office. There is no private/public business that could work in this manner and remain in business. But, a Company we have no choice but to use, can literally take 8 months with no follow up, no power, keep the money (5300) you paid for the service with no paid interest, and continue to stay in business. How is this possible Virginia ?

They are garbage for what they charge for power it shouldn't be no power outage and than they keep on giving you stupid estimated times on when you're service will be restored. I hate them more than anything on earth. And what's crazy I gotta have a cpap machine to help me breath in my sleep.

Horrible company! AEP is the reason why monopolies are illegal, but some how they still service this area.terrible customer service that has no more information than the app and yet the price of electricity keeps getting higher. They over pay aspludh to cut the trees around lines but use poles from the 60s and have no plans to burry the lines except for new construction. If the power is out and you freeze to death or pipes burst. Your home owners insurance has to cover it. Every one should call there governor or senator and get this company removed as the sole provider in Va.

AEP is a SCAM! I moved in July and called them to transfer service to the new location. I was told that my service was successfully transferred and everything was set. I even asked specifically if my autopay was still set up. They reassured me it was. Today, I got a termination notice in the mail, indicating that I haven't paid for service since July, and if I don't pay $360+ by 10/21, my service will be shut off. I spoke to a customer service rep who claimed my account wasn't set up for autopay, despite my telling her I talked to someone on the phone about this. She said there weren't any payment details on my account, but then backtracked when I pointed out that my bank account information was shown on the account. She said, "regardless, to set up autopay, you need to mail us confirmation that we can pull from your bank account." I stated that I always used autopay before, so why would I have to confirm this information again, especially since someone on the phone told me it was all good?

I asked for another rep, but was never given one. I called back several times and always got "Tiffany" who sounded like she'd rather be pulling her toenails out than helping customers. If I didn't live in this apartment complex, which requires service through AEP, I would have canceled service with them.

AEP SHOULD BE ASHAMED..I think its pretty sick to stop disconnections for the entirety of the Summer and then text disconnection notices to half The city giving them 3 day's to pay. Then not offering payment plan's or extensions because they're 60-90 day's outstanding! It's a malicious way to make people pay More than the past due.(BECAUSE YOU HAVE TO PAY FOR THE PAYMENT PLAN) It's the heartlessness for me. You are basically saying..Don't pay your rent OR car note maybe..(heck some may have to go without life saving medication's) so you won't be in the dark. I predict an uptick in evictions and car repossessions.

Don't @me with hate or ignorance because 85% of the people who Will see this are barely making it financially.!

Extremely greedy company that profits from late fees ($100), "deposits" (in my case $200) for being late twice in a year and "payment arrangements."

They claim that you'll get the deposit back as a credit if you make 12 consecutive on-time payments.

Of course, if you move out of state, get put on a payment arrangement or do anything other than pay the bill in full each month, you'll never see that money again. Calling it a deposit is a joke, it's more like theft.

Although I'm not 100% sure of the details here because every representative I talk to gives different answers to how the deposits work.

So if you're late twice in a year, expect to have $400 tacked onto your bill. Good luck if you're struggling!

But it's cool, they have amazing payment alternatives (sarcasm). It just allows you to pay it later, which they add to your bill - making your situation worse.

Absolutely predatory business practices, Virginia should be ashamed of itself for allowing this business to continue to operate.

This company price gauges like crazy! Iโ€™ve had bills over $600 and weโ€™ve done nothing different. Itโ€™s the same every year. Donโ€™t use them if you can help it
