I visited this location for prescription fire training, and the area was beautiful with native Florida wildlife and plants. The training here also had great instructors, and I recommend this location for the field day portion of S130 and other related courses. I only wish I had time to explore more, but now I have a reason to return with friends and family.

Linda was very helpful in showing my kids around and even showing them to handle a very friendly snake!

As if this wasn't enough of a highlight, another worker took us for an impromptu ride in a side by side to put two gopher tortoises back in their habitat.

It was a great experience. There's plenty to learn and see. Lots of hiking trails and information about the local ecology.

This was a really cool place. I had no idea all the stuff they do out here. They showed us how they do field samples of plants. Planning on visiting again soon they have a hike and talk scheduled for April. Thanks to Aaron and Staring for taking the time to show and talk to us about part of what they do at Archbold Station in the plant lab. 4/6/24 If Dustin gives the plants and people talk sign up. Dustin was great. We felt that we learned some important things. We are grateful for him taking the time. We got to see the bug lab on our walk. It's really cool to hear all the different studies they have going on.

New signage is needed. Trails are overgrown. Almost attacked by a wild boar, but that was fun. Whole place needs a face-lift. Tried to donate but the links don't work

The brochure says open 7 days a week. Went the weekend after thanksgiving. The gates were locked. Called the number posted on the sign and the really confused guy on the phone said no one was there because of the holiday.

Amazing educational experience at the First Day Hike! This is truly an ecological gem in florida for conservation and education.

Trails are very short. Not much for visitors to do because the venue is focused on researchers. If you just want a half hour walk then it's perfect.
