I went to this location back in March 2020, and Thomas Chen was supposed to prepare and file my tax return.

I paid and walked out, thinking everything was okay. He had been working on my tax return for a few days (or at least I thought).

Fast forward to June almost July; I called the Franchise Tax Board and was told they never received my business tax return. There is no record of me ever filing my 2019 tax return electronically. I paid for e-File at this H&R Block location. I never heard anything from Thomas or H&R Block that something was wrong with my tax return.

Come to find out my business tax return was filed incorrectly for my state return. The tax preparer, Thomas, used my EIN instead of my California account number.

This was a huge mistake on their part. Thomas was untruthful and gave me several excuses. The mix up was because he filed my tax return incorrectly, which causes a lot of issues on my end. H&R Block needs some sort of audit system in place to check their tax preparers, even those with "years of experience."

I won't be using H&R Block in the future.

UPDATE: The office manager and Thomas failed to resolve my issue so I emailed a few people at H&R Block corporate and the district manager reached out to me and I'm working with her and her team at another office to correct the mistakes on my tax return. Calling the customer service number below won't help because that is for personal taxes and my issue is with my business tax return.

UPDATE: This is my first and last time using H&R Block. Business customers have zero access to their tax return online. You have to go into the store and request or dig up your paper copy.
