Cameron was a great salesman and worked with us to get everything sorted. The wrong panels were delivered but the Install crew
Got it sorted and went and picked up the correct ones (sorry lost the names of the installers). Waiting for the city inspector to approve and then get the critter guard installed. If thinking of using Blue Raven you may want to wait until the parent company is done with chapter 11 to see who the new owners are. Waiting to see what happens and hopefully all warranties will be honored etc Bob in Dacono

We are in an interminable, iterative process of waiting, inspecting, and correcting the installation. When considering the finances, I encourage you to ignore the promise that you’ll have months of free solar before the financing payments are due. Our solar panels were installed on May 23, and we are still on the city’s power. Four months later. Infuriating.

Our installation is on the large end of residential jobs, but I would expect that these professionals would not have needed to modify the design on the day of install (and then have to correct their work subsequently). We’re paying so much for a very poor experience.

At first, things seemed to go well with the Blue Raven team. Then the constant delays and redesigns started happening; of course, Blue Raven layed off these delays on Colorado Springs Utilities, and it seemed plausible. The system they finally installed was perfect, technically; their panels use integrated micro-inverters! Just plug-and-play! But nonetheless, from beginning contact to end of installation took more than a year! And in the end, we didn't get near the power output we asked for, nor the original design!

We let 1 year go by, and recontacted Blue Raven for an additional two panels we wanted, to complete the original design. BR responded, saying we needed to send 1 year's worth of our power bills to them for evaluation and design. We only requested "TWO PANELS" to fill out our array! But it had to go to the design team! For TWO PANELS! JUST BRING THEM OUT AND PLUG AND PLAY! What designing is required?!

We didn't know that Blue Raven had been acquired by Sun Power, Inc., and that BR's sales structure had completely been revamped to a "100% commission" pay structure. That means the more the salesman sells, the more he makes!

So this salesman, Adriana, calls us up and insists we go on a Skype type call on our laptop, to do a business meeting. He then proceeds to tell us we need 7 more panels and he wants to install them on East and West facing roof structures AND EVEN THE NORTH facing roof! We said we didn't want to do that, and he begins his song and dance...our panels are too old to match (only a year?)...we can't put two more in the design hole because of some imaginary fire code...the technologies won't mesh...excuse after excuse to try and sell us more than we wanted.

Here's the trick of the Skype-type call...he can hear EVERYTHING anyone says in the background! DONT TAKE A SKYPE-TYPE COMPUTER CALL! I whispered to my wife, "..this guy's not only knows nothing about solar, but he's a scammer.."

This guy then proceeds to tell my wife he is sorry for her that she has to live with me! Because I was telling her, off camera (but not off microphone) that he was a scammer. He says to her that he will take it all back to his "design team" and we end the call. Back and forth numerous more times, and he says that they just can't do it and we'll have to just close the work order [the Ultimatum]; we said fine, we'll go somewhere else [called his bluff].

Lowe and behold, we get a text a week later saying that, wonder of wonders, the design team CAN just give us two more panels...and right where we want them!

Watch out for BLUE RAVEN Solar sales people. In my experience, they're liars or worse, totally ignorant of how solar works, and they'll waste truckloads of your time. If you don't know what you're buying, they'll take total advantage of your ignorance just to get into your bank account!

Their technology is GREAT! Their installation teams are exemplary, and our electric bills DID go WAY down! But their sales person was a slimy lying scammer, based solely on his dealings with us.

Based on the slimy reply, myopinion has NOT changed. The reply is mere damage control! The reply addressed ONLY the new 'fire code setbacks' and didn't even mention the fact that the salesman tried to sell us solar panels on EAST, WEST, and even NORTH facing roof slopes! What self respecting solar company puts solar panels on a NORTH facing sloped roof...especially with a 1 in 7 pitch!? Let alone EAST and WEST facing slopes!!!

As for the new setback, the fire code now requires a space between rows of panels for firefighters to get up on the roof to be able cut a vent hole in the roof. Panels already exist on my roof with NO SPACING! That's over a garage space with a completely open north facing roof WITH NO PANELS! Blue Raven didn't even TRY to present this! They just shrugged and said.."...it can't be done!" "...but panels on a north facing roof CAN be done!" In my opinion these people are either worthless solar planners, or worse, idiots! They certainly wouldn't go to bat for us!

This will jump to a 5 star review depending on how my situation is remedied. Right now, I’m feeling very disappointed.

The sales process was great; the sales rep (JC) was friendly, helpful and not at all pushy. They were flexible with scheduling, working around my complicated home remodel schedule. Honestly, everyone from sales to support on the phone (or via text/email) was fantastic. They easily get a 5/5.

Then there was install. The crew was incredibly unprofessional and did not treat my personal property with respect. They were supposed to finish in one day but left early on day 1 and came back the next day, forcing me to take another day off work. They took forever to get started on the second day. When they finally finished, they were clearly in a hurry to get out of there, neglecting to set up the solar app for me or install the new thermostat (which, I should mention, was the dumbed down version of the originally promised thermostat…kind of a bait and switch here). I was fine with this, as I just wanted these guys to finish up and leave.

The next day, my contractor sent me photos of the brand new roof we’d just installed right before the solar project. The Blue Raven install guys clearly drilled holes into my roof, realized they’d measured incorrectly, then filled the holes and move on, causing the shingles to lift because of the patch job. They did not mention any of this to me; just to be clear, they damaged my roof, made very sloppy and hastily installed repairs, and didn’t say a word.

The inspector came out and observed the damage, noting that the roof was absolutely damaged but that there was no risk of leaks. They said they’d submit a work order to get this repaired…and then nothing happened. I’m thrilled to have solar at my house but can’t recommend this company because of the very poor install experience.

Solar install was seamless. Crew arrived promptly and went right to work. We have a tricky roof layout that meant we were worried about exposed conduit on the roof, but the crew was able to find a way to route it through our attic instead. This on-the-fly adaptability is critical to a successful install. Would strongly recommend their services.

I did my research prior; increased home value and faster resale with solar is appealing. Then Blue Raven Solar got me 1.99% financing and is funding my financing for 18 months, I own the system, helping the environment, awesome. They do everything, permitting, HOA paperwork, scheduling of inspection and utility company net-meter install, and their employees do the installation. On top of that my system is over 100% offset from my utility electricity charges. The Blue Raven Solar installation crew were professional and diverse, from all parts of the country, really interesting to talk too. If you live in Washington state I recommend considering them as the solar company to go with.

I am changing my review. They will not pay your first 18 months. If you ask why not, they blame accounting and will not let you talk to them. Do NOT purchase from this company.

I had a meeting with the sales rep, Pete, on Thursday, and in exactly one week to the hour; I had solar panels on the roof. From my understanding, that is unusually fast. Everyone that I dealt with was extremely friendly and professional. I would recommend Blue Raven to anyone, especially my family and friends.
