We loved this place. The vibe is fabulous. We stayed in the Queen Suite overlooking the river and it was beautiful. Room was spacious and comfortable. Bathroom was very small, but serviceable. The grounds are beautiful. Lots of seating areas and beautiful views of the river. The decor of the bar and restaurant are gorgeous and I loved the Great Gatsby/art deco vibe. Even the food was excellent - although very expensive. Try the eggplant fritters - yum!!!! The only reason we're giving it four stars is because the place is dramatically understaffed. There is NO reception. You get a key code for your room, and if you have questions about anything (like kayak rentals) you are out of luck. My husband wanted to ask about the kayaks and there was nobody to ask. There was a phone number on the door to call. He called. Nobody picked up. Voice mail said, "Hi, thanks for thinking of me...." Excuse me? This is not service. There were only two people in the restaurant all night. They were working hard, and the lack of service is not their fault. They were managing the outside restaurant and bar area and the dining room. Too much was expected of them. This place really needs to invest in some more staff to take it up a notch. Loved the music. Speakeasy was closed but would love to check that out the next time. Definitely plan to come back.

Absolutely beautiful hotel! Loved everything, I stayed in Room D with an amazing view to the Russian River. I can’t wait to come back soon! After a 6 mile hike at Armstrong Redwoods which is like 15 minutes away we checked in and we had dinner at the restaurant in Boho Manor and it was delicious!

We have been staying here since the early 1990s, and have seen some changes. We like it that the property is so quiet and secluded among enormous redwoods and has such a grand view of the River. Everyone who works here is exceedingly nice. The rooms are clean and pleasing, while maintaining the rustic and classic features of the 120-year-old building. The rates are very competitive. That we keep coming back speaks for itself.

We stayed at Boho Manor on a Monday night. We had been researching places to stay at on the Sonoma County Coast, and stumbled on this hotel in Monte Rio. The decor of the hotel captured our nostalgic side. We booked the room and drove down the next day. We spent the day on the lower Sonoma Coast, before arriving around 4:30 pm at the Boho Manor. The Boho Manor was pretty much all we had expected, based on our research. Before we arrived we received a text with door code information, as the hotel does not have a staffed front desk. We found it extremely easy and efficient. We found our room easily. It was mostly clean and inviting. The only real issue I had was a slightly stained carpet. Being the carpet was light colored, it isn't hard to see why. Otherwise, we found the room to be nicely decorated in a vintage, early 1920's style vibe. Unfortunately, the restaurant was only operating on the weekends. However, the bar was open and we were lucky enough to basically have the bar to ourselves. The bar tender also doubled as the evening housekeeper. The place was nicely decorated. The grounds of the hotel are pretty cool too. The hotel sits along the bank of the Russian River, and has wonderful outdoor seating available to enjoy the relaxing view. Service at the hotel was excellent. The bed and furniture were very comfortable. The bathroom in our room was small, but was just fine for us. The breakfast is continental style, with granola, juices, coffee, English muffins, bread. Overall, a great stay, in our opinion. We are already talking about a return trip.

The Boho Manor was very cozy and comfortable. The codes for access made it very convenient coming and going. The location is great with easy access to highway 1 and a store close by. My only complaint would be the restaurant only being open Friday and Saturday. Making food planning a tad bit more challenging during a weekday stay. But as a costal establishment it is understandable to only be open on the busiest days. Overall my experience was wonderful and the price matched the service. Will definetly be coming again soon!

We loved the location and it’s the cutest vibe, quiet and relaxing. The rooms are clean, updated and beautiful. Only complaint is the wall heater is old and rattled a little so couldn’t use it while sleeping. Price is great for being on the river and only 20 minutes from the beach.

Oh my god, the most unprofessional, rude, overwrought "bar manager" I have ever seen after 20 years of traveling and having stayed in over 300 hotels all over the world. I understand this is not a 5 or even 4 star hotel, but they charger us about $250 a night and I expected some manners from the staff of the "manor". After having spent 3 hours trying to check into an ADA compliant room instead of erroneously assigned to us room with no other access but via a huge stair case this manager barged in without even a knock and started scolding my elderly mom with a disability in front of my toddler girl. Later when I, in an utterly polite and professional manner, tried to relate to her that I didn't appreciate her having walked into a private quarters unannounced and without permission she did not let me even finish a sentence. "Manager" literally started screaming at me that we had been lucky not to have been escorted out earlier. And that she'd still make us leave if I did not stop "getting into a fight" with her..||Then she stormed out (!) slamming the door, but I could still hear her screams (!) from behind the shut door(!) about how I was trying to pick up a fight with her... ||I mean, could here even be any comment?.. Jidt mental. Instead of at least being apologetic about a 3 hour check in of an elderly woman with a disability and an infant, complimenting a drink, for instance, what any decent restaurant manager would do, she (in my humble opinion) resorted to violating a few of California laws by trespassing, harassing, accosting, discriminating, etc. Just WOW. Please, stay away from this place. At least while managers like this work here. Sad, because the nature here is beautiful and I thought this might have been a beneficial for after serious surgery recovery getaway.

One of the most disappointing travel experiences I’ve had to date. I booked this for myself and my mom. Her favorite movie of all time is holiday inn, which was filmed at boho manor.

Immediately upon arrival we were a bit shocked at how dirty the outside was. We immediately went in, realized no one was at the hotel desk and helped ourselves to our room. Once in our room, we were shocked.

The bedroom furniture was clearly all Amazon furniture, cheaply made and shifted when you touched it. The bed was essentially a frame on the floor, and my mother had trouble getting onto the bed and back off. There were dead gnats on the ceiling, the shower floor was dirty, there was tape all over the walls and doorframes within the bedroom, and stains on the carpet. Then we looked outside, and our “garden view” was actually a direct view into the neighbors junky attic, with no garden view at all.

We proceeded to go back downstairs to look around (trying to remain hopeful). I picked up a brochure… it was sticky 😩 the carpets were covered in filth, truly hadn’t been vacuumed in days.

Then we walked outside, all of the furniture cushions had been removed and all of the outdoor amenities were unavailable. We found a small sitting area that still had furniture; so we proceeded to go there, where we found old dirty dishes, about 50 flies, and black mold on the cushions. We immediately walked to the car and proceeded to cancel our reservation. Boho Manor would only refund one night. Hopefully they can take the $130 donation from the first night and put it toward a cleaner 🙂

Don’t go here if you like to know you’re in a clean, sanitary environment.
