This was the first time coming here. We paid $165 for one night. This was our first night away in years & was for our anniversary. We arrived yesterday a little after 4 pm. When we got there, the lobby/store where you check in was closed, there was no security in the booth & the after hours number was not picking up. We drove back & forth a few times until around 5 pm when we located the sheriff on the property & asked how do we get the key to our room. He didn't know why the security wasn't in the booth & I called the security 10+ times, left a voicemail & even text. I never got a response. That kind sheriff located an employee somewhere who did get us our key & we were in our room by 5:30. The room & the view were not like it was described. Everything was very dated, which is fine, if the lake view we paid for was accurate. I imagined a balcony or something we could sit out on but instead there was nothing like that. The lake view was just the front walk way with one chair per room in front of it. The view was also completely obscured by trees, so really all you can see are trees. The fact that we couldn't get to our room for well over an hour, set the vibe for the evening & it was not enjoyable. Also, the TV did not work at all. There is no fridge or microwave either & dead bugs in the room. This is far from a 3-star hotel. I also emailed the hotel when we were going through our ridiculous wait & as of today, no response to that either. My room card was ready on the counter when I was finally helped, so they knew I was arriving. Later in the evening, when we were coming back from the gas station one of the workers stopped us & asked if we were following him & said he was he was being followed. I don't know if that was the security guard or what that doesn't answer the phone, but that man seemed far from sober & we were absolutely not following him. All in all, it was not relaxing, not comfortable & not worth the money. Guests shouldn't have a spend over an hour wondering if they will even be able to get their room they paid for & have to watch shows on their tiny personal electronics because half the room have no TV.

Went for Sunday brunch buffet. Good, but the omelet / eggs Benedict station was delicious! Lots of choices, all yummy 😋 Beautiful view of our gorgeous Shasta Lake

Location is fantastic if you are on the lake. Staff is great and friendly. Rooms are dated.

We stayed one night. Bldg. C room 214. Room was clean and comfortable. We would definitely stay again. The food was delicious at Huff's.
Two not so good--no refrigerator. I need to keep my medication cold, I kept it near the air conditioner and the television kept going out.
However I would highly recommend staying here.

Only used the launch for practice and tournament - was a good two lane launch when we were there but would be nice if it weren't $25 a pop.

We were on boat number 37, July 29 through August 2, 2024. There were several deficiencies with the boat. Some were very material. The deficiencies were as follows:
1. Left engine kept stopping. At times it would not restart for hours. A mechanical engineer in our party diagnosed the issue as an electrical short. We were told we would have to live with this situation for at least another day and a half due the lack of a qualified technician. So for 2.5 days travel was restricted and made docking very difficult.
2. There were only six chairs on board for eight adults, on a boat that supposedly sleeps 16.
3. GFI kept tripping, turning off all wall circuits and the air conditioners. Temperatures were above 95 during the day and some nights didn't cool enough to warrant no air conditioning.
4. No nonstick spatula for use on nonstick pots and pans.
5. No matches or lighter to light oven.
6. We expected to find matches in the first aid kit, but when opened found the kit was empty except for one useless cold pack. This was a material liability issue. There were several cuts and scrapes that would have benefited from antiseptic and bandages.
7. Mallet head detached from handle on first try setting shore stakes.
8. Toaster did not work.
9. Slide water pump stopped working.

On the positive side, when we went in on our second day to have the left engine problem solved, the fuel deck crew knew the meaning of courteous hospitality, and the mechanic that finally fixed the electrical short (late on day 3) was fast and efficient. For those things, we are grateful. As for the conditions on the boat, it was a bad and frustrating experience.

Great place to rent a boat and enjoy Lake Shasta, as long as you know a couple of things first.

First, you need to come early to get a boat for half day. Half day is a 4 hour rental. We came at 1030. By the time we got on our boat at 11:00 all the boats have been rented. Secondly, the cost of the rental does not include gas that will be used during the course of your rental. You will be charged the amount of gasoline used at the end of your rental.

Overall had a good experience. The attendance and customer service was fantastic. Tae, was super friendly and explain everything about the boat and how to use it and where to go. We also rented an inflatable towable tube ($50) which was totally worth it and highly recommend.

There are two convenience stores on the property to purchase anything you would need for the legs such as ice food or beverages. They also sell souvenirs.

Would have given 5 stars if it wasn't for the gas charge that was unexpected.

This is a great location for all of your lake fun. Huffs is a great family owned restaurant with awesome bartenders and server staff. The marina is very nice totally covered and a great value for the lake right off of I5. Some of the hotel rooms have a great view looking at the lake.
