Rented a car 2 months ahead of time for our trip to Steamboat. We arrived early and did have to wait " for the vehicle to be cleaned", which it was not. Was provided a Wrangler with bald tires and a death wobble . Was told they didn't have any other vehicles. Unfortunately we were forced to drive this vehicle that was unfit . Couldn't go over 45 mph without severe shaking. Promised a refund in full, yet Budget plays games and is only wanting to refund half. Had to pay for local transportation as Budget would not provide a solution. All this despite being promised a refund from the lady at the counter.
We travel monthly , and always rent vehicles. First and Last time with Budget.

We were recently stranded at HDN with hundreds of other travelers due to dense fog that never lifted. The best option was to rent a vehicle and drive to DEN to catch a flight the next day. The Budget employees were amazing, especially the gentleman who appeared to be the supervisor that day (1/7/25). They worked tirelessly trying to find vehicles for us and others we spoke with, all without a huge markup (kudos to Budget as well). Highly recommend this counter at HDN!

I chose a mid size rental and was given a 4WD Jeep Wrangler. It exceeded my expectations largely. It was clean, fun to drive and made the weekend in Steamboat a memorable one for me and my wife.

We rented a Grand Wagoneer out of Denver that had 46,000 miles and was pretty beat up. The brakes vibrated horribly on our drive to Steamboat and certain functions like the tailgate failed to operate mechanically. I decided to call the Budget Hayden location, thinking I would receive a call center, but to my surprise the actual Hayden location answered. Audra was really helpful in understanding our concerns and offered to exchange the vehicle. She ultimately put us in a fairly new Expedition, which had no issues whatsoever. Thanks for the help!

This location does not take advantage of fast break customers thus we waited in line for 1:15 to get rental car. Also wanted my early return made available when my flight cancelled but alas Budget doesn’t do that so I’m paying for two cars for the same day.

Renting at Hayden, CO was a wonderful experience. The staff at Budget was helpful and courteous. I received a phone call in regards to my rental to insure I arrived prior to closing time at that location. The car I rented was not available, but we received an upgrade due to that fact. Fabulous experience.

Rented through USAA because my son is only 23 not 25 yet. His age was provided when I set up the rental over a month before my travel. When he got there they told him he wasn’t old enough to get the car rented. Got a mid size SUV (Toyota 4Runner) because he was there for Alpine Snowboard Racing and 2 of his boards are 6 feet long. They crammed him and his gear (luckily he was traveling alone) into a RAV4 and only took $200 off the rental after they said it would be more than $300 less for the smaller car.
