Very unprofessional place!!! Delivery appointments not matter. I arrived one hour earlier be for appointment time and i had to wait two hours to get in loading dock. Staff can't cut bolt seal, i wait 20 min. for cutters.

Never again. I wish they allowed zero stars.
$97.00 original quote turned into a $405.00 charge a week after pickup.
I setup shipping for a small pallet going a short distance with Central Transport with a quoted charge of $97.00.
Central Transport driver showed up. We said let me get our forklift to load it. Driver said, no it's small and light, I'll just get it with my pallet jack.
One week later I get a "revised" billing for $405.00. Explanations being: Lift gate was used at pickup and "Carrier tariffs allow additional charges due to pickup location" .
Lift gate was not needed, it was used because driver insisted. And if there is a carrier allowed tariff, should it not be part of the original quote?
Central Transport actually sent me a google maps link showing the location of the pickup as a way of substantiating the outlandish surcharge.
So they know exactly where their "Carrier allowed" surcharge comes into play AFTER they pickup, but don't know it when preparing a freight quote.
This is the 2nd and LAST TIME Central Transport has added bogus charges onto my freight charges. The first time was similar, except they charged it based on the destination address, which I obviously had no knowledge of.
Now I know it's just a pattern with them: Offer a low quote, to be lower than reputable competition, and then come up with bogus surcharges to increase revenue. I should have paid the extra $40.00 and gone with Road Runner, who I have NEVER had problems with.
Like I said, NEVER again.......

STAY AWAY from this carrier - the shadiest in business there is. Will rerate loads for literally anything including noting shipping and receiving hours on the bill of lading as "appointment fee". Can't believe they are still operating and customers are still using them. Cheap right off the bat and then a ton of added unwarranted fees right after. Shame on them.

one of the worst companies on the face of the earth. Do not trust them. They lose packages and lie about it. They break packages and lie about it. They lie that it will be delivered this day or that day only to change the shipment date again and again and again. For weeks. Customer support will not help you at all no matter how many times you call and hours you spend on the phone. They will just tell you it will be delivered the next day and lie to your face. How can they be wrong about the shipment date for weeks in a row?!?!?!? Its a lie after another lie. If I had read reviews about them it would have never even considered them as a shipper. Stay away from central transport

Delivered here on Monday and it took them 4 hours to unload. It seems like it's good to go to the office and remind them of yourself once in a while. It looks pretty disorganized. The guy who moves trailers hit another trailer's corner when turning and didn't even realize it. Pretty typical for Chicago though.

I came to the company 10 minutes before my appointment 10:20am. They loaded until 7:20pm. Day shift of receiving office doesn't know what are they doing, they have no answers to my questions .I have to cancel another load, so I did lose and load, and money. I do not recommend this company

This guys are deliving to us second time , and the last time for sure !!!! first delivery was about 4 days late , they were hired second time to deliver package to us , it's supposed to be delivered today , have not came yet.I did call customer service and some woman telling me that , they have problem with loading , it's not my problem . They have a business to run, just like I have a business to run, there's no excuse and it's not my problem they have loading and unloading problem. I'm curious what happened the first time they was late with delivery , same thing problem with loading and unloading ? .This company is totally pathetic ,they probably start the day of work , with coming up with new lie , what to tell customers why the delivery is 3-4 days late .I if I could give them zero stars I would . Finally I couldn't take it no more , and I just emailed them and asked them : when is it finally going to be delivered , if its going to be deliverd at all ? The answer was they don't know , and they can't tell me anything nobody , not even the managers.Bunch of pathetic liars
