Had a power pole taken out by a construction crew working on a house next door. Contacted CVEC and they had a new pole out within 1 hour. Customer service was excellent to talk to over the phone. Had my power back up and running within 2 hours once on scene. Very appreciative of the linemen and hard work.

**Look at all the 1 and 2 star reviews.** Positive reviews are from friends or family members. Management and HR only care about collecting a paycheck. Could care less about anyone but themselves. A infant can communicate better than the incompetent HR department and Managers. Winder how long until this great “cooperative” is sold?

Hard for me to believe all these one star reviews. Be sure you are reviewing the correct location, I am reviewing the Palmyra, VA location.

I just got off the phone with Eric Carter the supervisor for our area. I called to ask a general question about where our power is routed from because my neighbor asked me to...he had gotten some false information from someone. My phone call was answered by a nice lady who spoke well and clear and directed me to a supervisor who knows my area, and he returned my call within 10 minutes and spent all the time on the phone with me I wanted, we even socially chatted a bit.

I have been a CEVA customer for 23 years. When I first moved here I was amazed that we hardly ever lost power and when we did it was back up within a few hours.

I had a squirrel fry himself on our transformer that feeds our house. CVEC was there quickly and had it fixed within a few hours.

The only complaints I had over the years was there was a period of time where the power would hiccup, going off and on in rapid succession. That stopped and hasn't been the case for years now.

In more recent years with the bad storms, we were out of power once for 8 days, thats the worst it's been. I have a generator, a wood stove and plenty of food, gas and paper products stocked up all the time so I'm not as desperate as those less prepared than me when the power goes out.

Mr. Carter DID explain a big difference in the past and the present though. He said back when I first became a customer 23 years ago, when power went out, their crews would work sometimes 36 hours straight to repair lines. As the younger generation came in they complained about it and eventually the safety police decided it was too dangerous to work more than certain hours. They only have so many people, and if they arent allowed to work through the night or beyond prescribed hours, their hands are tied, they are only allowed to work so many hours.

As far as cost, I feel like they are very fair providing new service for instance. We built a house for may parents next door and while they did have a few early transformer issues, getting the service was fairly easy and I felt the cost was more reasonable than any of the other services we needed for a home build.

Everybody wants a lower power bill. Part of the problem is political. Clamping down on traditional energy like natural gas causes costs to go up. We will never supply the power we have grown accustomed to with windmills and solar panels.

You can see the line where CVEC recovers the added cost of energy they buy on our bills. THAT's the cost of stifling all-in energy. On my bill it runs about $40 a month higher due to the cost of energy going up. It would be nice if the bill structure was more clear for the average person to understand. I have never had a single incident of bieng improperly billed, including at startup when we moved here.

So, temper those one star reviews. Those are usually people angry at that moment lashing out and arent always be trustworthy

Amazing people to work with.
Power rarely goes out. If it does it's only out for couple hours.

Worst experience ever! Have had numerous lines cut by this so called company. They will run lines on your property without prior notice and when/if they damage an existing line will tell you “sorry you will have to contact your internet provider” tried communicating with Management and was brushed off. Things started out good but I’d say this company will be fined or sold within the next 3 years with all the issues they have and are currently making for themselves. ***BOYCOTT** Firefly or what people who have had this “service” call them, Jokefly.

They’ve got to be the worst electric company I’ve had. I’ve dealt with REC and Dominion Piwer. We lose power for a week in January. OK, that was a terrible ice storm. But I often lose my power probably once a month….wake up in the morning and the microwave and stove clocks are blinking so power went off sometime during the night. Tonight at 9:15, power blinked off 4-5 times before going off completely. There was a thunderstorm that came through but this is 2 hours after that storm. It was restored after about 2 hours. Then, it stayed on for about 50 minutes when power blinked off and on another 3-4 times and went off again for good. And rates are not cheap either. It’s a good thing I have surge protector on my outlets or this constant off and on power surges would totally fry my computers and other electronic appliances. Totally ridiculous.
