Power has been out for over an hour, they can’t or won’t tell you if they have someone actually working to restore-only they are aware of outage. Any electric company can keep power on in good weather but, to be a good electric company you should be able to restore power quickly. We all knew storm was coming and you should have been prepared for it. Chelco should have to pay for all for in their customers refrigerators and freezers.

I wouldn't even give this place in defuniak springs fl 1 star. The workers there are rude and pompous. Act like they are better than anyone walking in there. They charged just to talk to a rep in person and then charged me a member fee. Usually you get perks when your a member. If you can help avoid this place as much as possible. I had to put down 1500 dollars to get electric in my name. They made me pay for the renters past bill that had nothing to do with me. Defuniak springs office should be ashamed of themselves and how they conducted business.

I lose power dang near every single time it storms. I am being over-charged, in my opinion, for power because I literally sit at home while my children are at school ALL DAY, with NO lights on... If I use something, I unplug it. Yet, Im still running anywhere between $8-$15 a day! They have either raised their prices and didn't bother to tell their consumers, or they are just screwing me outright. I cant fathom how anyone can use that much power in a day when nothing is turned on.

Roland was great to deal with. We called that we had no power and after a few minutes he came back and said it did show a problem out at our place. He sent technicians out within the hour and had it fixed. He then called me back after to let me know that all was good and I needed anything else to call. I was so impressed with this guys demeanor and sense of urgency. If I had a business, I would definetly hire this guy. On the last note, Chelco is a great company.......

This company is always unhelpful refuses in the covid epidemic to delay disconnects and give proper extensions to customers 1 week extensions dont help most people who get paid every two weeks or once a month and also people affected by covid and reduced hours or lost jobs. 1 extension allowed every 6 months This company always has done whatever it wants walks all over and shifts on its members and customers. Every other company I've delt with once we started losing wages due to covid causing us to be placed on part time , has been helpful and delayed disconnect dates on ultilitys and other essential services and even non essential. Chelco is not. You can have a week to pay once every 6 months . This is outrageous and them wanting people to go beg charities to pay our bill when all we asked for was a 12 day extension. Someone should start monitoring these monopolies which is truly a predatory company.6

Blew up the phone line, only an automated attendance message would play. No extension would work and "back up operator" not reachable. So now ill have to drive to the next town over just to pay a bill. Thwy need to get some real people on the other end instead of them sitting in the office pushing buttons like ive seen many times in the past. Robots dont fix everything
