Cinnamon Energy Systems delivers a truly premium solar installation experience, marked by professionalism, organization, and comprehensive service. From the outset, the process was seamless, thanks in large part to the outstanding support provided by my representative, Jessica. Her deep knowledge of solar systems, paired with her responsiveness and attention to detail, made the journey toward energy independence clear and stress-free.

What sets Cinnamon Energy apart is their ability to manage every aspect of the project under one roof. They have established teams of roofers, electricians, engineers, finishing specialists, and logistics coordinators--all working in concert to ensure a smooth and timely installation. This level of coordination reflects a well-honed system backed by experience and a commitment to excellence.

One of the most significant advantages was never having to worry about utility company coordination, particularly with PG&E, or navigating city permits and inspections. Cinnamon handled it all. They also made tax season simple by keeping all invoices and documentation in order, ready when needed.

Every touchpoint, from initial consultation to system activation, reflected high standards of service and communication. I always felt informed, supported, and confident that the work was being done right.

We went with Cinnamon for a 12 panel system with Enphase micro inverters and two 5P batteries, and are very happy with the system and the support we've received from the company. They distinguish themselves from other solar installation companies by providing dependable follow through, reliable communication throughout the design and installation process, directly employing all workers, quality of installation, and by being a truly local company (based in Los Gatos). I highly recommend them to anyone considering solar in the Bay Area.

The salesperson was professional, knowledgeable and helped us work through the options for our system. Of course, the sales people for ALL the solar companies are going to be super helpful because they want your business. One thing that Cinnamon did better than other companies during the sales cycle was to not pester us to death with calls and emails. Other companies continued to call repeatedly even after I informed them we had already signed on with Cinnamon. So irritating... Our Cinnamon rep stayed in touch but avoided being annoying. Also, unlike some other companies, Cinnamon didn't use any high-pressure tactics ("If you don't sign up by the end of this week, blah blah.")

Where I believe Cinnamon really sets itself apart is how the company executes after the sale. If you've ever had a contractor that you had to keep calling, or who set expectations and then didn't follow through, you know how frustrating that can be. With Cinnamon, the communication and follow through was nearly spotless. There was one incident where the person coming out for our pre-design inspection was late and didn't call to inform us. But other than that, the company did everything they said they would do when they said they would do it (or earlier). Whenever we had questions, someone always responded promptly. They guided us through the permit process, inspection process, and getting our PG&E plan changed. At every stage of the project, our expectations were set and then met or exceeded.

I am also very happy with the quality of the installation. The crew scheduled two days for the installation, but completed the job in one. The quality of the work appears to be very good. Everything was done to plan and all the components are laid out very neatly. Note that in the photos, Cinnamon offered to paint the conduit to match the house but we declined. One tip: if you don't want conduit visible on your roof, make sure that is part of the initial design (before you sign the contract) so the contractor can estimate the extra labor to hide the conduit as part of their work. Our house has old wiring, so we did experience problems with a few breakers tripping. It happened twice. This created some inconvenience because the problem occurred at night. For example, one breaker would trip immediately after we started our microwave oven. So that night, we had to heat our dinner in the oven. Inconvenient, but not the end of the world. But the electrician was able to resolve each incident the next day. Overall, the crew was professional and took pride in their work. And as I mentioned previously, everyone is a Cinnamon employee. I'm not saying all subcontractors are bad; I'm sure many do excellent work. But for us, having subcontractors in the mix introduces possible quality and reliability concerns, so we liked that all the work was done "in house."

Since the installation, the system has been running reliably and we are delighted with it. I enjoy using the Enphase app to monitor the energy production and storage. I especially like the micro inverters so that I can see how much energy is produced by each panel, and because if one of the micro inverters fails, the remaining panels will continue to function.

Again, we are very glad what we went with Cinnamon. I don't think we got the lowest price, but their price was competitive. We chose Cinnamon because we value supporting a local company and also enjoy the peace of mind that comes with knowing they do (and stand by) all their own work.

Cinnamon Energy Systems installation panel crew were fantastic. They did a great job in a timely manner as well as picking up and not leaving any trash behind. Very polite and knowledgeable crew.
The electrical pair James & Newman were super! They explained before and after the battery & power wall installations. Again the area was completely cleaned from any trash. After a brief discussion, they even had an excellent alternative for some wiring (copper) to be installed and not be so visible.
I would highly recommend Cinnamon Energy Systems for your solar needs. I look forward in using Cinnamon for my future needs (HVAC).
Happy & satisfied custom. Sterling Makishima

Cinnamon did a great job for us replacing, expanding, and adding whole-house battery capability to our solar system. Jessica at Cinnamon did a fantastic job speccing out the project, walking us through how the new system would work, where we could expand our capacity and matching our system to our energy use. We decided to replace our roof at the same time, and Cinnamon worked seamlessly with the roofers. The installation was done quickly and as expected. We ran into a glitch with final County approval, due to some personnel changes at the County, and this necessitated some rework. Cinnamon (Jack, Mark, Paula, Joanne and Jessica) were straightforward, proactive and transparent about this issue and we addressed it effectively. Our system is up and running and we love seeing how we are not using PG&E basically at all (for electricity at least)!

One thing that is really great about Cinnamon is that everyone is very responsive. If you have a question or send an email they get right back to you with a real answer.

Cinnamon's installation team were fantastic. I wouldn't have believed it was possible to install all of the solar panels, batteries, and electric panels required in just two days, but they did. Particular thanks to Jonathan for working diligently with the state inspectors through the complexity of our rather unique split building electrical configuration. Quite a challenge but in the end all went smoothly.

Michael Croft was our primary point of contact, and he guided us through every step - from exploring our options to making sure everything was working smoothly after installation. He was always prompt, clear, and proactive in his communication, helping us stay on track and meet our goals. We highly recommend Cinnamon for their expertise, reliability, and great customer service!

This past December 2024, we had to replace the entire roof on our hone.  This required removal of our old PV solar panels and PV system.  We signed with Cinnamon Energy Systems (CES) based on a high recommendation from Los Gatos Roofing.  Randy from CES came out for the initial survey and we discussed what the new system would look like.  Randy gave us a proposal for the new system, and he made some adjustments per my review and recommendations.  Jonathan from CES came out and did the technical survey and drew up the plans to be submitted for permits.  Please keep in mind that there have been some recent changes in the fire code that affect where and how battery systems such as the Powerwall 3 can be installed.  Both Randy and Jonathan were very thorough and provided details on the fire code.    Once LGS gave us a schedule for when they would replace the roof, CES scheduled a crew to remove the existing solar panels one week before the roof replacement work.  Their crew came as scheduled and went to work.  It wasn’t until February 2025 when CES was able to install the new solar panels and the Tesla Powerwall 3.  Note that there are some things that are not in the installer’s control such as permit reviews and approvals by the city.  PG&E also have to install a collar on the meter.  Also, the Powerwall 3s are very popular and are in high demand so some time may be taken for Tesla to deliver the Powerwall 3.  After the installation and startup of the Powerwall 3, it turned out that Powerwall 3 was failing diagnostics.  Not to worry, the CES crew contacted Tesla while on site and they worked together to diagnose what was wrong.  Tesla determined that our Powerwall 3 was defective and would ship a new one.  It can take more than 2 weeks to get a replacement.  CES however, decided to pull another Powerwall 3 from their inventory and install it.  It was installed and passed all diagnostics.  It’s now working properly.

The crew at CES are well trained, talented, professional, and great to work with.  Paula at CES managed the scheduling and was also great to work with.  She kept us posted on the project schedule.  As I’m into technology, the CES crew didn’t mind me watching them work and looking at the technology of the Powerwall 3.

We highly recommend CES if you are looking for a PV solar system.  5-stars.

Cinnamon installed a 40kW ground mounted solar+ 3x Tesla Battery wall system at our place and the experience has been fantastic. After two well known national companies bid for this project and failed to deliver, I went with Cinnamon, and that was a great call! They took the time to walk me through the details of the system design, various storage options and made the ground mounted system work beautifully.
