Beautiful spot to view the manatees if you can get past the snorkeling on noodles crowd. Not sure why they allow boats and people up into these springs. They do have areas roped off to keep them out but we saw multiple people swim under the ropes into undesignated areas 🤬. Amazed the manatees aren't cut to bits by all the motorboats in the river area. The ticket fee includes trolley rides to three locations. Be sure to check them all out. The visitors center is the second stop and super informative. The last is Taylor springs which is like a small county park. Overall a magical experience. The manatees do come and go with the tide. So check a tide chart online and plan your visit around high tide. Expect to spend about four hours between all three locations. Trolley driver was exceptional.

Nice stop. You can go through the building in about 30 minutes. If you are lucky you might get to see manatee or fish out back of the building. There were no manatee for me today but there was a great horned owl looking down at everyone in the tree out front.

What an amazing place. Really beautiful. Easy to access everything. Great restaurants and food. We've met lots of friendly people with some great conversations. Would highly recommend I bet it gets real busy during the summer. But their busiest time is winter, as there are more manatees to see.

Only went to the Kayak Launch and Sailboat Ave/ US Coast Guard location this time, but the Museum and Archaeological Site is a must-see. Pets allowed here. 🐾

This is a GREAT place to learn about Manatees. It teaches you some history and so much more. Cute little gift shop the goes back to the refuge for the manatees. The staff members were great and very friendly! We can’t wait to come back again and share with others.

Oh if you have kids ask about the Junior Ranger. It’s pretty cool!!

I saw hundreds of manatees today at a nice facility. There were knowledgeable and friendly volunteers that were willing and able to explain an interpret the manatee and other natural phenomena. The crowds were light. The visitor center was small but well done. Volunteers here were also very friendly and helpful. There was nice restroom at the visitor center. It cost a fee to get to the viewing area for the manatees. There were extensive storms in the area yesterday and some of the trails were flooded and not passable in ordinary footwear.
