Someone explain to me how I live full time in Birmingham and pay Alabama power $63 per month year round and yet here at the lake nobody's there except weekends and it costs me over $250 per month, I guess they gotta Jack up TVA rates to pay for their large salaries, just don't get their huge costs. Probably need to go solar soon. In response to your answer sir my heat is on 50 degrees the lowest setting while I'm gone during the week, y'all charge such high rates that $6.50-$9 per night is taken out of my prepaid account which isn't including the weekends when I'm there that can cost $8-$12 per day, that's around $250 per month or more for a home that isn't even lived in full time, I can't imagine those that stay weekly it's a shame, too bad Al Power can't step in.

These people have got to be the biggest crooks I have ever seen! I just got my monthly bill in the mail and there are a ton of things added to it that wasn't there before one being leak protection? I never signed up for these additional things and I'm being forced to pay them? Nobody in the office can explain to me what these additional charges are and to make matters worse I am on social security and I receive my check on the 1st of every month my bill is due on 27th of every month which means they charge me ridiculously high late charges I have pleaded with these people to change the due date to avoid these high late fees and they claim that they can't? I don't believe that I think these people enjoy ripping customers off because they can especially the elderly! These people are disgusting human beings!!

Update: My reply to your response is that I have reached out to you and your staff has no idea what the additional charges on my bill are? Nobody has been able to explain them thus the reason for this review and my Opinion of you!

if I could go lower I would, I went from a 250 electric bill to a 650 bill in 2 months. I event tried to call, and a person is impossible to get on the phone. Dec was the 250 and now Feb is 650 will no reasoning in sight. I would say they are downright stealing just because they have a monopoly. There is a petition going around about electric companies in Alabama on change.org and after this I may end up signing it. Price gouging at its best.

One of the best run power utilities in the state. Prices are reasonable, outages are rare, the new fiber internet service is fantastic. They even do the thankless job of wrangling billing for the local water utilities and sanitation department, so you only have one utility bill.

Great customer service. Shows all annual usage on my bill online so that I can easily determine my highs and lows during the year for comparison.
Never had any problems with them for the past 40 years.

They misread meters for months and jack your bill up, and could care less when the big bills come. Their online system is out of date and clunky. A lot of changes to accounts must be done by talking to someone if you can get them on the phone. I feel sorry for those struggling right now because this coop could care less. They know that you have no other choice. You must do business with them, so they treat you how they want.
